In 1927, the Royal Air Force of Great Britain unsuccessfully tried to set a new range record on a Hawker Horsley bomber. After that, the British Aviation Ministry published specification 33/27 with the requirements for the aircraft for long-distance flights. In response, Fairey Aviation launched the Long-range Monoplane project. November 14, 1928 - the first flight of the Fairey Long-range Monoplane for long-distance flights.
The designers have developed a two-seat high-wing with a non-retractable landing gear. Depending on the variant of the chassis wheel with or without fairings. It was equipped with a Napier Lion XIa engine (570 hp) Cruising speed - 180 km/h.
On the first built Long-range Monoplane with a used J9479, they tried to break the record in December 1929. Unfortunately, the plane crashed in the south of Tunisia and the entire crew was killed. On the second plane, with the used K1991, on February 6-8, 1933, a new world range record was set. His crew covered a distance of 8707 km in 57 hours and 25 minutes .

One of Romania's most famous aviators Maximilian Manolescu is standing in a light pilot's suit, next to him is an unknown civilian pilot. The aircraft behind the pilots is a training and sports Klemm Kl 35 with a used YR-APA and a proper name "Brăila" in honor of the city and port on the Danube. Behind it you can see another Kl 35 "Iași" in honor of the city of Iasi. Both aircraft belonged to the aerobatic group Dracii Roșii ("Red Devils"), one of the founders of which was Manolescu.
The reason for the unusual checkerboard coloring of the wing and elevators is interesting. The picture was taken in 1938 - Dracii Roșii had just moved from ICAR Universal Acrobatic to Klemm Kl 35. Before that, the Devils' planes wore a bright red color with white stripes. But in 1936, two pilots from the first squad ? Petre Ivanovici and Mikhail Pantazi Mikhail Pantazi - were killed in plane crashes. Manolescu was persuaded to assemble a new train, but because of superstition, he decided to change the color of the planes to a black and white cage.

Some engravings were done and add some windows. Few more details to fit to kit and it can go to painting
