Aircraft Modeling / Re: Model kit of a plane that didn't exist...

To be complete in this 'fighter that didn't exist' matter I must remark that also the MIG design bureua had a prototype for an all-weather fighter resembling the SU-15.
It was designated as I-320(R) and it even looked uglier than the Sukhoi design. As far as known, only 3 prototypes were built. Final type selected as an all-weather fighter was the Yak-25!

To be honest: this strange looking plane DID exist but it was only NOT a MIG design.
It was the unsuccessfull Sukhoi SU-15, and as we can see we can hardly regard this old kit as accurate!
I can remember Aurora also had in the late fifties a kit of a Russian 'Atomic bomber' that was in fact a very inaccurate model of the Myaschisev Bounder.

This is a Frog kit I have still unbuilt. In the kit a V-1 was included that could be mounted on top of the Ar-234 fuselage.
Found the kit some 10-12 years ago and yes, I paid only Dfl 5.- for it (= ca. EURO 2.30).
It must be a kit from the late sixties or maybe early seventies since this kit was already distributed by Rovex. Other kits in the same range (1/72 scale) as illustrated on the side flaps of the box were the BAC Lightning F.6, Canberra Mk.8/12 low lever bomber, Dornier Do-17Z-2, Spey powered Phantom F.4K/M and the Lockheed PV.1 Ventura

Warplane Art / Re: Hunter combat art

Wow, that's great! I believe the Hunter was in general on even terms with the F-86 Sabre, but in turns it lost speed earlier than the Sabre because of the higher drag of the side air intakes. For the rest I think it was more the pilot rather the plane who would be the best in a dog-fight......................

Yes, I see it now (was difficult to see and maybe it must be a little bit thicker!).
Now we only need the gunsight.

What about gun barrel and gun sight as shown in the photo?
Assume they will be included in next version...

Just checked my books: KLu Hunter T.7 was basically similar to RAF T.7.
T.7 only had one cannon on starboard side.
Only T.7 prototype had 2 cannons. It is interesting that T.7 was even a little bit faster than the single seat F.6 because the broader cockpit section gave better area rulling.......

T.7 had a cannon on both sides, so port view will show same details. Note the blast openings on the gun barrel!
Hunter had initially great problems with smoke from guns causing flameouts of the engine!

See gun installation of the KLu Hunter T.7 N-301.
It is a detail of a photo I took in 1965 during an Open Day at Soesterberg when the type still was operational.
