A friend of ours who now lives in western Nebraska was an engine mechanic on P2Vs in the Aleutian Islands when he was in the U.S. Navy. I'll see to it that he gets a chance to see this--he's always liked the airplane a lot but isn't so certain about the R-3350......

I've had a few minutes extra to devote to the Mitchell. All the seams are now filled and primed and the cowlings are being fitted. The nose piece is taking a bit of extra "bodywork" to repair some areas where I didn't do such a good job the first time.

I've ordered up a Weekend Edition Eduard MiG-21 so I'll be ready for a GB whenever we can schedule it this winter!!! 
And I was wanting to build an East German version anyway so everything fits my needs.

No.1's thread from two posts ago actually shows the same airplane I modeled, only after the unit codes had been painted out at about the time the War began.
I'm working on a direct "cousin" of the PZL series for the next LLL Magazine that I hope y'all will enjoy. Stay tuned for LLL #5......

In between projects for the next LLL magazine I managed to get primer on the seams of the Mitchell. I was surprised that I didn't have more voids to re-apply filler to, and this thing has a LOT of gaps at the wing-to-fuselage joint and around the bottom of the nacelle-to-wing junctions. A bit of filler, some more primer, rescribing some panel lines and it's off to the camouflage shop.

Yes, it was sunny alright--and almost 40C when I took those pictures!
I knelt down during the "photo shoot" and nearly burned my knee, and it's supposed to be even hotter tomorrow......

I had the privilege of climbing around on the Lysander that used to belong to Don or Dwight? (can't remember the name) Brooks before it was donated to the Smithsonian. A HUGE airplane when you stand next to it!

Here's the finished P.11c, finished in 112 Eskadra Myliwska colors from the pre-war period. I kept the airplane clean and tidy just as the crews maintained their machines before the War. As much as I'd have liked to add radio aerial wiring, the one photo of this machine I have shows that it was not equipped with radio equipment at the time of the invasion.
