Hi evrybody,

Here is my last build : Fw 200 C-3/U1 from Revell which has been issued for the first time in 1966 and reissued in 1995 without any improvement apart from new markings (In the meantime, the civil version Fw 200 V3 (or V5) has been issued in 1991).
The kit has been built with little improvements such as metallic guns, correcting the air scoop for the caburattor and u/c legs which were in the extended in flight position in place of being represented compressed by the weight of the plane sitting on the ground...

Hi mates,

This evening, I have improved the shape of the airscrew blades.
I have to say that a particular attention must be paid to the type of tyres for a G-6 : be sure to choose those marked 660x160... I'm not sure the number of the parts correspond...
Some pictures to-morrow.

Thank you very much, mates.
I must add something to finish the story.
In 1967 has been published a booklet upon the He 177 by Aero-Publisher. We can see inside two photographs of this plane, one with british markings and, aloso the SAME pcture with the plane in German markings with the code K9 (yellow 9)+NL, the legend telling this He 177 A-5 belonged once to the KG 26, forgotting the fact that KG 26 was coded 9K and that they never had any he 177... This photograph was obviously a fake.
The British picture :

Coll. JCM

The fake :

Coll. JCM

Unfortunately, in 1969 Airfix chose this false code for their kit... Here you are the first one that I built in 1969...

Aircraft Modeling / Heinkel He 177 A-5 by Airfix (1/72)
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:02:46 PM »
Hello everybody,

18 years ago I built this kit but left it without markings... Some two months ago, after having removed dust I decided to finally finish it. I wanted a airplane with a story. I found He 177 A-5, WNr 550062, code F8+AP which was seized by the French Résistance at repair works in Toulouse-Blagnac. This plane was adorned with French markings and was to be given to the Allies i.e. the UK to the RAE in Farnborough. For this flight, the invasion stripes were painted to avoid confusion with "real" German planes. On 10 September 1944, with Cdt Clark at the controls the plane took off from Blagnac and landed 2 h 45 min later at Farnborough where it was intensively photographed before the British markings were applied. In January 1945 the plane went to Boscombe Down.
Camo of this plane consisted in RLM 71 on uppersurfaces with remnants of the splinter scheme. Undersurfaces were RLM 02 with hand-painted blotches in RLM 65. Undersides were also very dirty...
This kit is very old being issued in 1969 ! I had to improve the airscrews, add interior details, etc.

The old Monogram Ju-87D is a bit better to construct but the Airfix interior has more detail on the sidewalls.

Hello,
Monogram kit is better to construct but very inaccurate.
The Airfix Ju 87 B is far better in accuracy.

Hi,

Very interesting model. It's a pity there is only the P-63A version, since the French air force used several P-63C...
Your work begins very nicely.

Yes, you're right because it's a mean to see what the kit exactly resembles to...
