Yes, they look great after only an hour or so. I used the same setting solution on my Bulgarian Bf-109 decals (Aeromaster) but the decals reacted strangely--the test decal rolled up and came off of the surface around the edges and stayed that way. It always pays to use a test decal from the same sheet first to make sure everything is compatible.

A few years ago I did a walk-around of an Il-78 that was sitting at Perrin Field in Texas. I was amazed at the number of stencils on the airplane! Just like your MiG but larger with lots more placards.

A few more decals made their way on today. Notice the national insignia are still wrinkled up from the MicroSol. These are the CA kit decals and really conform great with the setting solution. I had a different ship number in mind but the decals (left over from an old sheet) just couldn't be saved.

Tonight the first test-fitting of the Scale Aircraft Conversions landing gear took place. They fit nicely and will look great when painted and assembled.

Nice work, Scott Like the Ga-4, nice decals! All three are lovely kits, great restoration job.

Thank you, David. The Romanian decals came from the IAR-80/81 that I built for LLL Magazine 06.

I must warn you, also, that the Aeromaster decals I sent you don't really respond well at all to Microscale setting solutions. When I started to apply the Bulgarian national insignia I dabbed on some MicroSol and it curled the decal up a bit. I was lucky and saved it with some patient massaging. They go on alright without any solution as it turns out.

Okay, I finally put the final touches on the Romanian example, so here are a few photos of all three. First is the Bf-109G-6 of the 6th Fighter Regiment of the Bulgarian Air Force in April of 1944, stationed at Vrasdebna:

Next, the F-4/R3 from 1.(F)/122 that was stationed on Sicily during the summer of 1942:

Finally, the Romanian Bf-109Ga-4. This was the third license-built machine to be constructed at the IAR factory in Brasov. The airplane was stationed at Pipera-Bucharest Airfield with Grupul 7 Vanatoare in the spring of '44 and was damaged in a ground accident in June of that year.

Finally, a couple of shots of all three lined up for a mission.....

Desert Air Force Hurricanes were flying many, many missions during the time my dad was in North Africa so I especially appreciate this scheme.
