Ready for the finishing touches, the wing is temporarily sitting on the airplane right now. Final assembly won't be for a while yet.

I had planned on some more F-84 painting after work today but the wind was so strong it was stirring up dust in my "paint booth". So, I started a bit of work on a later Republic fighter/bomber.......

The final few decals are in place and the entire machine is ready for flat clearcoat. After that will be the final assembly process. Today I offered up the completed skis to the airplane to ensure that everything aligns correctly.

The tailwheel fairing has to be trimmed away to fit the Swedish tail ski and I overlooked that little detail during the build. I was a bit concerned to have to take the Dremel tool and drum sander to the fairing at this late stage, but nothing fell off during the trimming.

After numerous cups of coffee the final decision was made. The trim colors first, along with the anti-glare panel and some black:

The rest is easy now that I have committed to the scheme. There were several that I would have enjoyed doing but only one at a time!

Yes, it is on the Revell display. Supposedly it is an all-new tool rather than the old Matchbox kit.

From what little I can gather this is still in progress. I don't know when it will be released, some say December of this year.

There are so many instruction placards/stencils that they almost didn't need camouflage--they could have made the lettering in the desired color and it almost covers the airplane!

Okay, I've decided on a paint scheme. Almost. It's been pared down to two possibilities from five that I started with. I won't know until my first cup of coffee tomorrow morning which one I'm going to select.
