Hi mate :-salut

It seems it's a nice kit well detailed and finely moulded.
Great build.
French Armée de l'air used a lot of Ar 96 B :
a total of 88 from 1945 to 1949 at BE 705 (Cognac). 54 were given by the BAFO in Germany, 6 were taken over from Kehl and 28 more for "cannibalization", 54 in use during 1947 and only 19 in 1949...

Hello, :-salut

It looks well. That will be apparently a pretty finished model kit.

Hi mates, :-salut

After having been very busy (too much busy, considering my age !) I made some shots of the kit before painting. My conclusion is that it's not the definitive kit of the Bf 109 G...

The front view shows that the u/c legs are not at the good angle and are too long...

The real "thing" :

Hi mate, :-salut

Very, very, very good built. Congratulations.

But your plane is NOT a Bf 109 G-1. It's a Bf 109 G-2/Trop.

Hello mate,

Thanks for these pictures.

I also knew this plane as "Cessna L-27B Administrator". If I remember well it became U-3B in 1962.

Aircraft Modeling / Bell P-39N Airacobra
« on: October 24, 2014, 09:18:23 AM »
Hi everybody,

Here is the Bell P-39N by Monogram in 1/48 scale. It was built decades ago by a friend of mine but not... very well. In 1980 I was given this kit  instead of being destroyed by the guy and I decided to dismantle it and then rebuild it.
As I already had one in US Army markings (Built in 1979. Sorry, no photographs available) I decided to finish my new one in french markings thanks to an Microscale (aka Superscale) decal sheet. The markings are those of GC 1/4 "Navarre" in the fall of 1944. The cocades were absent of the decal sheet... Not a good idea !
The result :

Hello,

Nice progress.
The P-39 is also very interesting and Monogram's one is (seems to me) good enough to be built into an amazing finished kit. I have one in... French markings, indeed ! But another one in US markings too.
My P-39N Airacobra is here :

Hello mate,

Very interesting but strange plane, the first prototype of which was a mix of different planes...
Building this kit is a nice project and progress goes well.

What a collection !
The only other collection that I know being larger, from only one builder, is now into the Saint-Victoret Aviation Museum, which is composed of appromatively 2 800 to 3 000 models...
Mine is very small with only 528...

Hi mate,

A strange plane, indeed.
And always RLM 83 color which is NOT a Green but a Dark Blue.

Hi,

Amazing result. Bravo !
I don't know very well the MiG 3 but I like it since my discovery of WW2 aircraft history. I find it a terrific look.
