Hello :-salut

A pretty kit of the Alouette III. And more, it's N°2020 on which I spent 4h25 of aerial photography... when she was at EH (Escadron d'hélicoptères) 5/67 "Alpilles". Unfortunately I didn't found her coding "341-EM". I built this kit in May 1986...
Heller gave her the coding she wore at EH 3/67 "Parisis".

Excellent! Shading of panels are far better then many do that today!

Thank you.
Shading with Humbrol Metalcote "Polished aluminium" hand-painted and buffed with aluminium powder.

Hello,  :-salut :-salut

Here is my oldest surviving kit from the time I was a teenager. This is Solido's kit of the Dassault Mirage III, issued in 1959.
I restored it some years ago by painting it "aluminium" all around, because in that old times it was usual to stick decals on the "silver aluminium grey"-colored plastic. Wheels were the same than those of the 1/43 scale miniature cars of the same manufacturer with rubber tires...
The kit represents in realty the Mirage III N°05, the prototype for the series Mirage III C. Under the belly is to be seen the famous "red missile" of all fighter kits from Solido !
I built it in 1961-1962...  :-wise

The pilot/cockpit is one part :

Hello :-salut

Another kit among my oldest ones.
A true vintage kit and single in its kind, a "Airvell" model or, more precisely a mixture of two models…
Revell, in 1963, issued a 1/72 scale P-47D-25 Thunderbolt  the nose of which was not very good. I had assembled a specimen of this model that, of course was barely accurate for me. In 1966, Airfix issued a P-47D-22, a Razorback, with the Hamilton propeller which will be found on the coming D-25 version.  I thus tried to graft the nose from Airfix, including the wings, on the fuselage of Revell and the transplantation took well.
Here the result, in 1967, with the markings of Revell's kit:

A few months later, Max Abt published a decal sheet for a French P-47D-30 of the GC II/5 La Fayette (in two words in France and one word "Lafayette" in the USA). I carried out one second graft, but without taking account of the differences with the "D-30" version… In 1968, I was greatly unaware of subtleties between the different versions of the P-47…

Aircraft Modeling / Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4/Trop

Hello :-salut

One of my oldest kits in my collection... Revell's Bf 109 E issued in 1963 or 1964. The kit has been build shortly after my entry in the active life, in 1965-1966. It's always in mint condition because it has been protected from sunlight and dust for nearly 45 years... Markings provide from a Max Abt decal sheet, a French decals producer, and depicts a Bf 109 E-4/Trop but built from the box without modifications it's in fact a Bf 109 E-3...

Look good :-ok I have something in pile, no idea of producer, old kit

Frog kit, surely. I've one in the making. It has the first style canopy. I'm looking for markings... because original ones are unusable...

Hello :-salut

Here is the Trumpeter kit of the Wyvern in 1/72 sclae. This is my penultimate build. It's not a very easy kit to build because it has been studied to have the wings folded and the fitting of the parts to have deployed wings leaves much to be desired... Trumpeter offers only one canopy fitted at mid-production onwards. The first type was of all-round vision made of perspex with internal frames.

Hello,

The HPM (Australian) kit of the Vought F4U-7 Corsair, a version exclusively used by the French Navy (94 examples).
This kit is of the "short run" type. It's not difficult to assemble and renders well the look of the Corsair. The decals were unusable and the markings are these of Italeri whose kit of the same version is far from being good...
