This transport version was used on small scale by Dutch KLu!
See attached a nice shot of one of the KLu Ansons flying low over the monument at Soesterberg airbase. The Gloster Meteor F.8 standing near the monument is now at Aviodrome Museum.

Anson had wingspan of 17.07 m and lenght of 12.88 m. so it was not such a big bird!!
It had more or less the same dimensions as the Bristol Blenheim bomber.

Me-110 only excelled it its role as nightfighter. As heavy dayfighter it just was a failure!
It could knock out 'heavies' ('Viermot') with cannon armament but it was definitely no match for Allied singe seat single engine fighters. I believe nightfighter version is now on display at RAF Museum at Hendon.

Thought No.1 had plans for a 'war-booty' Me-109G in Dutch post-war markings! After the war there WERE some Me-109's left in unairworthy condition and everything was scrapped but a 'what if' could have been possible! Markings would have been standard rosettes and colour alu with black anti-glare panel (just like Dutch post-war Spitfire and Mustang).

I believe Hound-Dog missiles fitted to B-52 bombers even had their engines running to assist during the start of the B-52!

This was the progress on the DFS230 when photographed in 2005.
I have not seen it during my last visit in 2009.

Here is that strange low wing version of the DFS 230!
At the MuseƩ de l'Air at Le Bourget they are progressed quite far with the restoration of this rare type.
It must be the only one left in the world!

It is very interesting there also was an experimental low-wing version of this transport glider.
We have images in our Letletlet photo files! Also here: no swastika on vertical tail........

Interesting to know that SAAB  had developed with success its own ejector seat!
First plane fitted with this device was SAAB J.21 twin-boom pusher fighter.
