I read on another website that the BBMF was unable to do a flyover due to weather restrictions. Beautiful ceremony regardless!

Ground Forces / Trooping the Colour 2012

I was very lucky to receive two tickets to this years Trooping the Colour.
The ceremony of Trooping the Colour is believed to have been performed first during the reign of King Charles II (1660-1685). Today this spectacle remains a celebration of the Sovereign's official birthday. There has only been one year when the Queen has not taken the salute since her accession to the throne and this was in 1955 and was due to a national rail strike.
On Parade for this event was:
The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The Sovereign's Escort, The Sovereign's Escort, The Household Cavalry.
No.1 Guard (Escort to the Colour) 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards.
No.2 Guard 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards.
No.3 Guard No.7 Company Coldstream Guards.
No.4 Guard Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards.
No.5 Guard 1st Battalion Irish Guards.
No.6 Guard F Company Scots Guard.
In total 52 Officers, 1049 Soldiers (including 222 musicians) and 198 Horses.
Below are some of the images I took on this once in a lifetime trip.

Just seen some great video taken from the port facing oblique camera position of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flights PR XIX, it was taken during the fly pass for the Queens Diamond Jubilee, it shows all the other BBMF aircraft in formation over the London and the Palace.
At 110Mb a bit large for the site, let me work on it and I will report back once I get it to a workable size.

Duxford is only 30 minutes drive from where I live, sad to say I missed this event as I was away on holiday. I now have my tickets for the Waddington airshow in July. Looking forward to this as the Typhoon will be flying again and of course the Vulcan is booked for the two day show.

Too much orders from one side, reviews to do on other side, Warplane printed series is just started... my own life is also somewhere there. So something must be drop. Idea will not be forgotten and from time to time we will arrange some special issue. Web site will be more rich in content and all what we will not publish in printed publication will be on our site. So we will have benefit anyway
I feel the same my friend. I get so many requestd for information from my site, I have less time to work on it. Also my work is keeping me away from finishing the book I'm writing, soon very soon, I will have some spare time on my hands and can get stuck in to all the projects I have wish to complete.
Best wishes to your future plans No.1, I think I can say that the members of the site will support you in any undertaking you are looking at doing.
