Thank you veru much for your kind reply :) I have passed your findings and here you are answer:

Wonderfull Srecko,

thank you very much for answering me so fast! Yes it´s true, the italian insignia on the tailfins changed from black to tri-color with the beginning war. Now I learned from you that even the crest could change its position. I never noticed this detail before. But whats about the red framed roundels? I don´t know how old the profile-picture really is. I scaned it from Chris Chants book and find it later also on a web page. The whole problem started when I read the descrption under that picture in my book. Sadly this german edition was translated so badly that sometimes it is hard to understand. Most of those descriptions described also that particular shown profile picture. But not in this case here. It was only saying that the germans handled a few breguets over to the italians. Because of the roundels and the crest I wasn´t sure if this picture shows really a italian plane. Only the axis´white stripe ( mediterian theatre) on the rear fuselage seems to prove this. When I searched trought the internet I found this equal picture with the description saying it was realy a italian plane. So I wondered only about the roundels which I never saw before. When I took a closer look on that picture I found that even on the fuselage must have been painted a (french) roundel before which was now only covered with  dark paint. And even the camouflage was in the french style, so I presumed that this plane was quickly changed to regia aeronautica insignia by painting simply the fasces symbol into the roundels. Unfortunetely the lower roundels are not so clearly to recognize and that there were black fasces stripes in there is not definitivly clear. But you have the right hint for me. The truth could only be find when looking at the original photography from which this profile was copyed. Maybee someone have  already seen it, and answer on the forum. And probably someone kown something about those breguets in italian service and in which markings and camouflage they really were used. So thank you again for this time and hoping to hear something about the results in the forum where you gratefuly posed my question. Okay, thats all for now from me.
Bye, Zdenek

Web is one of the most important comunication media today and as many other it use graphic. But not much of  webmaster take attention on the preparation of the graphic for web. Other problem which appear is great  number of "harvesters" who just take all of this images for their own purpose and then publish it with no  permission. To thing become worse one company from UK had released last year plug-in which allow to convert  web image into the printing quality image... the age of piracy is here.

What we can do- at least to make a big problem with any who would like to take our graphic. Other benefit  that with the same physical size in pixels our image will be much smaller in KB and with no significant loose in  apearance make our site work much smooth and faster. In the begining of this site my images was from 90KB  up to 150 and today with the same sizein pixels they are much smaller and never go over 40 KB. And where is  the trick? No trick- Photoshop CS2 :))

First you have to do is to open image in CS2 and make basic adjuctment for the web. Experience show that  there is no need to place image wider then 800 pixels and for me best fit is 640 pixels. If you really want to  put "harvester" on problem then reduce it on 300 pixels. Then you do following think- hold Shift-Ctrl-Alt and  then press S. You will have then open new window for the setings of your image for web.

First you have to do is to press on tab on the upper line and recomended is 4 Up. This will split your image in  four small windows and each will show you your image in different size and how it look like. Note that one  image, right upper corner, is blue outlined. This image I have press as option for save on web. Under the image  you see size and format- it is JPEG and 20.57KB and this is reduction from standard reduced image which had  52.8KB before.

On the strboard side you will see control panel. Watch at the red indicated tabs. First is set on JPEG and this  is best for format for color profiles and images. Almost 100% of my graphic is set on this format. Under this is  the Level of the compression and I choose Medium. There is also optiom Low but I don't use it as well it  destort image more then I like to be.

Then you press button Save and then new window will open and this will allow you to choose where you to  save this image. Better save it in separate folder then the original but if you choose the same folder then  original will be overwritten [not if you change name :) ]. When you save this you can close your image. Now  panel will apeear which will ask you if you want to save changes on the image. Choose No and close file.

Hope that this will be of great help to you :) :)

Hi friends,

I get following mail and image from one of our visitors:

Hello,

on a aerospace publishing aircraft-picture I find a unkown red framed italian roundel with the fasces symbol inside. Is this realistic? Also the coat of arms on the italian flag on the fin seems not to be in the right place. Maybee you can help me with some more information on this strange looking warbird insignia? Many thanks!

Department of Defense anf Turkey Sign Joint Strike Fighter Agreement

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England and the Turkish Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gonul signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to begin future cooperation in the production, sustainment, and follow-on development (PSFD) phase of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program.
The JSF PSFD MOU has now been signed by the United States, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and now Turkey, and will be signed in the near future by the other JSF partner nations -- Italy, Denmark, and Norway. This new MOU will expand cooperation among the nine JSF partner nations beyond the ongoing JSF system development and demonstration (SDD) phase, providing a framework for future JSF program efforts in production and beyond.Turkey joined the JSF SDD MOU in July 2002.
This agreement will have a significant positive impact across the entire spectrum of the U.S.-Turkish defense relationship, including North Atlantic Treaty Organization alliance commitments in the years ahead.JSF will provide air dominance, enhance interoperability, promote defense transformation and modernization, enhance affordability and strengthen the U.S.-Turkish industrial base.It is anticipated that remaining JSF partner nations will sign the JSF PSFD MOU before the end of February.
Joint Strike Fighter, as the largest ever DoD acquisition program, continues to set new standards in development of manufacturing technologies, acquisition and business practices, technology transfer, and export licensing. The initial JSF test aircraft conducted a successful first flight on Dec. 15, 2006.The program provides opportunities for partner industries through the best value model - selecting manufacturers and maintainers based on a combination of quality, price, and timeliness.
Once the JSF PSFD MOU signing process is completed, the partners will cooperatively develop, produce, test, train and operate a Lightning II JSF Air System that will enhance the interoperability, survivability, and affordability of our future forces.Continued Turkish participation reinforces the longstanding and close relationship between the U.S. and Turkish Air Forces, providing a solid foundation for future air operations with other allied and friendly nations in a joint and coalition environment.

Combat Warplanes / Your favorite airplane
« on: January 27, 2007, 09:52:47 AM »
Maybe this is the most boring question on all of the forums but I am sure that everyone have it's favorite plane. Just some time ago our friend Santino started nice art topic with Hawker Tuphoon which was the brother of the Hawker Tempest. Still remember how I wish to have scale kit of this plane and in May 1982 my mother bring me a sample kit in 1/72 scale from Revell. No one was happy like me and more to that I get few cans of Revell paint, which stay my favorite paint until today [and they are really good!!!].

Well- every time have it's favorite and I am still impressed with many of planes world's or domestic manufacture [no need to mention IK-3, Yugoslav best fighter ever] but one plane still catch my eye. This is the Grumman Panther. Fighter plane with very clean and nice aerodynamich lines but to be honest never perform some top combat performance. I was always laughing when I have read memories of one fighter pilot of Panther who flew it in Korean war that "Panther swim like axe" and this story was described its landed on sea and his escape from plane which imediately went into fast dive.
