Tamiya had a great idea, the base of the cockpit is from shaped metal, the plastic parts fits in, so the nose weight problem is solved. Like the idea, should be used more often. However the fitting is not the best and some pin marks are visible on the fuselage in the cockpit area. I'm not 100% sure what will be visible after completing the cockpit so the critical areas had to be treated with putty, just in case, which reminded me to some words of the great song from Toy Dolls - My wife is a psychopath : " I smashed her face, just in case, 'cause I hate violence... "

Scratchbuild nose wheel bay ( as it later turned out this was a waste of time, nothing is visible, but I know it's there ) and the start on the engines

To be honest, it the last time I was modeling a tough projects, one is still " on " ( Saint George ) so I decided to make some relax project in between, to get my head clear a bit. So the choice went on this excellent Tamiya kit in 1/48, but as always with a bit update. So here are the " elements " of this one

The struts are made, material is 1,5 mm evergreen styrene, first cuted on basic shape and then shaped wit sand paper.
