Thank you friends !

The start of the surfaces on the fuselage/wings. A lot of putty and sanding was needed to get it right. The next step was to identify the surfaces which will be cutted out or need a some sort of intervention and the start of heavy duty work.....

Thank you friends !

Tamiya kit is excellent with details, but as I was doing some thinking I came to a conclusion that the paint job won't be so spectacular on " dots " areas on the top and a bit of the side, don't allow any shading, it would be lost, doesn't make any sense to do it. So the only option to take this kit to the next level and get out something more of it i making rivets. So I founded a rivet map and started to make rivets all around..... First measurement, then drawing the rivet lines with pencil and riveting on the end by using Z63 riveter in 1/48 scale ( this manufacturer makes three sizes of riveters 1/72,1/48 and 1/32, I'm using them many years now and I'm very satisfied with it ).On the pictures the upper fuselage half is still intact.

Thank you !

Work on landing gear has started, first I wanted to use some wheels I found in my spare part box but I wasn't satisfied with it, and decided to make new ones from scratch. As a first step a tool for proper spoke layout had to be made, as next only wheels are made without the tires, they will come later as soon as the wheels are in desired look. The basic landing gear parts are also started to be made.

Some cockpit details had to be made, during the time lots of things got stolen from this bird, so what left in it is still visible, I used Evergreen styrene and some photo-etched leftovers for this purpose.
