As far as I know the protrusion showing under the fuselage was the crew's 'relief-tube' and on most pictures it is not visible. Apparently it was a necessity at longer flights......

Machine got later registration FCx450. It crashed near the town of Hoorn during test flights with Fokker test-pilot Emil Meinecke. Meinecke survived the crash and later FCx450 was repaired and sent to Netherlands East Indies

I could only see outside exposition and entry hall during my visit of 1 day only. Large hangar with interesting items like Turbolot VTOL research plane was closed and I could only see some items through one of the windows from a distance. Think it would have me taken another day to see all!!

I visited Monino in 1992 during my Great Spotters Trip.
Took quite a lot of pictures! Believe most important were already published on our website some years ago.

Conversion with three-bladed propeller!
 According to Dutch book by Hugo Hooftman also FK-79 had three-bladed prop!

This was pattern machine made by Fokker for licence production in Finland and it definitely did not have the national insignia on its propeller blade. This was typical for C.X with propeller made in Finland.

If it is CaCO3 it can be easily destroyed by an acid like HCl or H2SO4.
Even acetic acid will destroy it! Think the open structure will make it very vulnerable to acid exposure.

Purchased the Lindberg biplane kits in 1982 in our city mall.
Wished I had also saved the boxes of the other kits!
At least I still have the built models..........

Lindberg also had 1/48 kits of the Fairey Flycatcher, Gloster Gauntlet and Hawker Fury biplane!
I still use the old Flycatcher box for my spare parts.....
Assume these are all old Inpact kits!

This is the C.X prototype without registration.
Later it received the ML-KNIL registration FCx450 for the Netherlands East Indies and it has flown both with a semi-enclosed and two open cockpits. It crashed on 7 December during a test flight near Hoorn.

Correct name is Sentry and not Centry! I have seen them several times flying in the Netherlands.
On one occasion it was on approach to Valkenburg airbase with grey clouds on the background. When it crossed the motorway I could only see its rotating disk and that was a very strange sight. Car drivers stopped  to have a look at this 'UFO flying saucer' and only when I heard jet engines and looked better I realized there was a plane under that saucer!
It even got attention in the newspapers the next day!
