Fuselage painted except the rear, and the wings are painted and decals are on. The brown on the wing got a bit too red but I won't change it

And the home made propeller, still raw wood without the gloss cote,  the center is not perfect but no need for it, it's covered

I simply just couldn't let the over weathered cockpit to stay that way so I fixed it, after joining the fuselage and a small amount of putty and sanding the painting started. As always first Gunze surfacer, then the basic wood color,I'm painting it with brush,no need to be perfect even color, if a bit various even better, helps to get more realistic wooden look, wood painted with sponge with burn umber artistic oil paint,, to prevent to continue of the wood pattern I'm painting it in stages, every second panel line, when finish after masking the unpainted to follow..... The wing are started to be painted also, and the first decals are on

As a first step, painting and assembly of the interior and engine. I over weathered the cockpit a bit,but not much be visible on the end anyway..... By looking the pictures of the original engine Eduard did a good job, I added only the brass pipe on the front, joining the fuselage soon

I'm got a few days off for holidays so I'm back home and want something to do, but I would like it to be quick and easy,so my choice is Eduard's Albatros D III in 1/48 I got as a price on modeling competetion. I'm building Werner Voss's bird, like it a lot....... So as a first step, looking up in the box to see whats on the sprues and getting in the mood

Glad to help friends ! I tried out a lots of things during the years, Tesa tape is also good ( and the price is good also ) but same problem as Montex, in my case Tamiya tape and sheet worked out the best so far, so as conclusion any of these products work fine on short time but for me as lazy as I am Tamiya is the right choice. As far as Tesa and Montex is concern glue it first to some clear and smooth surface ( glass is best ) and glue it off several times ( 2-3 times ) it usually helps to take some glue of the mask but still enough to glue it to the model
