I mean on French Jaguars too ;)

:-red Sorry forgot about the French

French Jaguars have seen action in Mauritania and Chad, however the biggest test for the Jag came in the war for Kuwait. Both RAF and French Jaguars operated in the area. Before the air war began RAF commanders had decided not to use their Jaguars at low-level, but go for medium-level strikes with fighter and anti-radar missile support. This proved correct andRAF Jaguars had great success with bombs and rockets.
The first French Jaguar mission of the war was flown at low level but 3 of the 12 aircraft were badly damaged by light flak and SAM7 hand-held missiles.

With no doubt this is art images!!! Interesting that this plane fought in many of bitter actions and have very minimal looses.

The Jaguar first role was to defend the west from Russian attack over the plains of Germany. Of course this all change with the 1st Gulf war, then the aircraft had to fly in an area that the RAF had never trained for. That I think if I'm right, is the only 'war' the Jaguar has been used in.

I still think that the Spitfire has to be one of the all time great airplanes, it was built during a time when the UK required so much from it's young Air Force.
The Hurricane was a mighty fighter but its development did not go has far as the Spits.
You ask any person of any age and they know what a Spitfire is.  :-wise

Thank you my freind, sad to say all this has now gone, with the disbandment of the Canberra PR9, there was no requirment to keep this type of equipment.
So that was me and a number of other air photographers out of a job. Luck we all had other jobs to go too.

The de Havilland DH.100 Vampire was the second jet-engined aircraft commissioned by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War (the first being the Gloster Meteor), although it did not see combat in that conflict.

The Vampire served with front-line RAF squadrons until 1955. It also served with numerous other air forces worldwide (see Operators). Almost 4,400 Vampires were built, a quarter of them under licence.
