Combat Warplanes / Far East Airfield
« on: June 19, 2007, 04:34:22 PM »
Here's a image from part of a collection I have of an allied airfield in the Far East, dated approx 1945.

In the shot I can see 9 P47 Thrunderbolts and 4 Spitfires (3 in bits) as for the rest, well  :-help

No problem my friend, it's better to have the infomation twice than not at all.  :-tri

Short range nuke?
Hawker Siddeley began development in the late 1950s of the Blue Steel air-to-surface missile with had a range of over 100 miles with a speed of Mach 2.5.
Blue Steel entered service with No. 617 Squadron (The Dam Busters) in February 1963, equipped with a 1-megaton thermonuclear warhead. As large as a fighter, the missile was 35 feet long with a wingspan of 13 feet and an overall weight of 15,000 pounds.
In 1959 work on the improved Blue Steel 2 (with a 700-mile range and Mach 3+0 speed) was cancelled.

Come on  don't do that  I'm also a beginner with no experience with metal finish this will be my first one and I have decided to do it not because it's easy
but because its difficult

I'm not expecting great results with my profile but this will be a start the next ones will be better, but I will never find out if I don't try

Where do you need help?

Let me show what I have done with a lot of thinking and "tenacity"
the metal look is improving  :)
I will give it a go, I even started over my lunch break at work the other day, so not all is lost, there is still hope for me  :-crazy
