Combat Warplanes / Osprey deck landing
« on: July 18, 2007, 12:51:21 PM »
HMS Illustrious has become the first Royal Navy ship to embark a US Marine Corps Bell/Boeing MV-22 Osprey aircraft onto its deck during a joint exercise in the United States.
The MV-22 Osprey, the world's first tilt-rotor aircraft, has a unique vertical take-off and landing capability.  It is ideally suited to working from the deck of HMS Illustrious, which is currently the UK's high readiness strike carrier.

Combat Warplanes / RAF Jaguars Last Flight
« on: July 07, 2007, 08:38:34 PM »
Some shot of RAF Jaguars on their last flight before leaving the service.
I served on a Jaguar Recce Squadron for 3 years in Germany, great little aircraft, sad to see it go.  :(

I love the one painted like it's RAF paintwork is peeling back to show it's true colours.  :-eek it's now on my desktop  ;)

« on: July 06, 2007, 08:32:13 PM »
If you are after any information of Polish Squadrons serving with the RAF during WW2, have a look at this site.

They are working on placing onto the web the Operational Record Books (ORB - F540/541) 1940-1947, it's an on-going task.

http://orb.polishaf.pl/

Some of the Squadrons have not been completed yet.
