Combat Warplanes / Re: The identify the plane thread
« on: September 25, 2008, 11:46:44 PM »
Hi,

I think it's a He 111 and its shadow resulting of a very low sun on the horizon. It should be interesting to know the time when this photo was shot. I think in the evening...

The blueish rendering of the Sky color is due to the bad conditions of shooting...

Hi all,

My little book on the Bf 109 G-1 through K-4 will be published in English language and it's expected for Xmas.
I met the editor yesterday and he has told me he will add my article on Bf 109 H issued in Aéro-Journal No5.
That will be a soft cover book to reduce the price.

Hi mate,

Very beautiful !

But pay attention : don't paint the tyres black. During WW1, rubber tyres were not black. Some were pink !

Have a good day, the same for all other members.

No. 1,

Thanks for the welcome.  I like to see what other modelers are doing around the world and not just on one forum.  This forum is a new breath of fresh air, a new place to learn.  Thanks again, No. 1.

Jicehem,

The pin hole camera is a great tool, but you have to have something worthwhile to photograph.  Unfortunately it can also show up mistakes big-time but I didn't notice any!!

Your FW190-9s are great.  And photographing them from a "scale" position lets them shine!

It is a neat idea to view your models through the pinhole lens to look for out-of-scale areas on them!  Thanks for the idea.

You can also shoot your models outside against a real background of trees, hills, cloudy skies and they will be in focus too!

Have you done any build threads on your models?

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes, I have already taken pictures in the open air but at the present time it's very difficult (at last in the department where I'm living) to find scenery without modern constructions...

I've done no thread on my models.

Cheers,
Jicehem

Aircraft Modeling / Re: French Seafire XV

I never seen this plane in French markings  :-razz Is it used on deck? Nice build mate  :-clap

Hi mate,

Yes, it was used on deck on board of aircraft carrier "Arromanches" (ex H.M.S. Colossus). There has been only 15 Seafire XV delivered to the the French Aéronautique navale in june 1949. They were used until the beginning of 1945... After that month they were declarde unuseable for landing on deck and were given different schools. They definitely retired during 1951.
