Combat Warplanes / A mix of Mirages.

Hi mates,

A photo made on 21 June 1982 at Avord. That was a meeting for the "Coupe Comête".

I've tried to post a clickable thumbnail and I think that works. You have to click one more time to obtain the full size photo... always in 3000 dpi.
If anyone of you wants to publish one of the photos I post, he may indicationg only the author under the name "JCM".

About 11 000 printed photos and 9 000 dias...
I have to say that about 15% were given to me by "old timers" or other comrads.

Hi all,

Here the Academy's Hawker Tempest V in 1/72 scale.
This plane belonged to RAF 501 Squadron in Ocotber 1944 and was one of the few that had their camo-paints removed to fight against the V1 flying bombs.

Hi all,

Here is the Airfix F-84F Thunderstreak with the markings of the French Armée de l'air but with Israeli cocades during the Suez Campaign in November 1956.
Unit was EC 1/1 "Corse". Spa 69 insigna on the right of the fuselage, and SPA 88 on the left side.

Hi all,

Here the Airfix F-80C modified into a YP-80A of the Project Extraversion which consisted to send American jets in England and Italy, in Aptil 1945, to combat test the YP-80A and to rebuild the sagging morale of bomber crews that faced the German jets threat every day.
Both aircraft sent to England never worked well, one being totally destroyed, the other having her engine changed against a Rolls-Royce jet engine.
The two sent to Italy worked very well and at the end of the war were acquired by 1st FG who marked them as on the model kit.

Hi mate,

The official name of this color is : Air Superiority Blue. I don't know the FS reference...

This plane, sn 71-291 was the 12th Eagle built and the 2nd TF-15A, later renamed F-15B-4-MC (cn 0012/B002).

Hi mates,

A well known plane in US markings, but very rare in French markings...

This fact happened in 1976 when a French delegation visited Mc Donnell, if I remember well...
The plane is a TF-15A. This is the Airfix kit.
