Hi Nº 1,

I can anticipate some very good work added to the character, because the link you have supplied it will lead to that, excellent link by the way!!

I have a question, unfortunately not directly related to to WW1 pilots but with WW2 German pilots

I'm presently doing a profile,or shall I say trying to do a profile of a BF 109 F- 2 when finished it will represent the aircraft of Hans "Assi" Hahn Gruppenkommandeur of III Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen in summer of 1941
I'm using Profile Publications Nº 184 as a resource and they publish an image of the above mentioned aircraft painted with red in the engine and rudder, online resources are giving the same aircraft but painted using yellow I'm a bit confused can you
clear this matter or perhaps supply me  a link  about this issue?
Hi Metar :)
Profile Publications are one good source but is a very old, if the photo source is only B/W is difficult understand exactly the real color... In my experience I fount big mistake about color reference in old publications... :-think
I attach one kagere color profile from JG2 1936-1941 - Kagero ML7 if I found some photo I send to you

Bravo No.1 is correct is the Vickers Wellsley,  :-clap next post you recive your candy  ;)
I like so much this aircraft whne I was young I build the matchbox modelkit...

Five aircraft with provisions for three crew members were modified for long-range work with the RAF Long Range Development Flight. Additional modifications included the fitting of extra fuel tanks. On 5 November 1938, three of them under command of S/L R. Kellett flew non-stop for two days from Ismailia, Egypt to Darwin, Australia (7,162 miles, 11,525 km) setting a world distance record. All three aircraft succeeded in breaking the existing record, but No. 2 aircraft landed in West Timor, 500 miles short of the final objective. The Wellesley's record remained unbroken until November 1945.

During the Second World War, the primary use of the Wellesley was in overseas theatres of operation, mainly in the Middle East. Among its significant wartime operations were the bombing of Addis Ababa in August 1940.

While the Wellesley was not a significant combat aircraft, the design principles that were tested in its construction were put to good use with the Wellington medium bomber that became one of the main types of RAF Bomber Command in the early years of the European war.
