I have not been on the Forum for some time.  Two reasons: 1. For avery long time I was unable to login.  Who knows why.  2.  I had teo back operations and have had a bad time since then.  I am still having problems and am feeling a lbit better and am improving SLOWLY.  Please do not cancel my membership.

Perhaps not.  germany during WW I was a federated coutry.  The Kingdoms of Saxony had their "own" airforces.    They had their own equivalent orders.The Blue Max was a Prussian Order

  I found something that might explain the problems with the G-14 varaiant.  The tailplane was fabricated from wood on this particular mark.  Perhaps they were prone to failure.

   My wife bought me a book about the arforces of germany's allies in WWII.  In the section concerning Hungary there was a notation concerning Hungarian crashes and deaths in the 109-G-14.  Was there anything inherently wrong with this marke?  I have "Augsburg Eagle" by William Greene and noyhing is mentioned about this particular variant.  Does anyone on the Forum have any info.  These were inflight crashes and were not related to the landing gear.

I would be happy to receive any posts in German from you and I thank you in advance.  I have never been to Nebraska, or any other state in that immediate area.  I understand the terrain is flat. I hope you enjoyed your stay in the US.  I sure have enjoyed my trips to Germany.

I wonder if the G1 had any influence on either the FW 189 or the Lockheed P38?  I tcertainly was an interesing design.  Did any faall into German hands and used by them?

The Messerschmitt 209, a projected replacement for the 109, corrected the very weak and badly engineered landing gear of the 109.  They also had a 309 under development which featured a trycicle landing gear.  They were two interesting designs which never saw production.

I hope the Gustav is salvageable.

When we have discussions here about the number of arcraft supplied to Russian forces during WW II, nobody knows anything about types and numbers of aircraft.  I understand the Us suppled Airacobras, Kingcobras, and Mitchells.  Does anyone know how many and if there were other types involved.  I read here that 3000 Kingcobras were delivered and seven Spitfires.

This secret stuff makes me laugh.  Who were the Allies keeping German armaments secret from?  I imagune the germans had a pretty good idea abput what their armaments and capabilities were.  The US still classifies informatio about the Indian Wars as "Secret"  Thosw wars were over in 1890.   Pfui !

Is my mind failing me (again) or did I read somewhere that Arado(or perhaps someone else) was working on a swept wing version of the Blitz.  What a great night fighter it could have been!

The p51 is a beautiful airplane.  As mentioned it became a great airplane when the Merlin engine was installed.  Most of those engines were manufactures in Detroit by the Packard Motor Car Company.  RR did not have the production capacity for Brit planes plus the 51.  Packard was chosen to build the engine because it had world wide reputation for quality.  In cidentally, the Allison engined plane was fine at lower levels as an attack aircraft.  As an Army close support aircraft it was called the A36.

One of the craziest movies I ever saw was in Dallas, Texas.  "Fanny Hill Meets The Red Baron".  Absolutely nuts.

Number 1-I can see the images posted here.  They were what made me question the ruggedness and ability of the Moisant to dive bomb.  I will look and see what if any pictures I can find concerning the attacks in Mexico.
