I've started that kit yesterday. Few parts (19 and not 21 as announced on the instruction sheet); no drawings for the build but it's really not necessary; but an elegant model that will result in a nice build.
After having washed the parts and removed the flash from the resin, I started the build. To note that the canopies are extremely fragile - After having broken two times those elements, I decided to replace some parts by Evergreen...
-
Nice! :-ok
-
Molds are excellent!!
-
Sanding is finished, the aircar is ready for painting...
-
Interesting kit to build! Relaxing. ;)
I like it. Nice vehicle! :-love
-
Fast and nice :))
-
Yes, simple kit but well conceived. It's really a fun build. I will try to make a nice paint... For that I have to watch the Episode V once again ;)
-
Ha ha ha... :)) :))
Go ahead! :))
-
May the Force be with you, Daniel..!
-
Time to come back on the aircar, after some 1/1 work at home...
White primer; correction on putty; re-white primer.
I'va again watched the movie scene, but there is no indication of colours for what concerns the bays. So I've decided to use a "standard" alu...
-
Maybe some space alloy or even some warm colors... anything is possible ;)
-
Sure mate... The SF kits offers the advantage to give some liberty of interpretation ;)
-
Masking tape placed: ready for orange!!!
-
Good work on cockpit, your tape is stretching tight into the shape
-
Well it's not the cockpit mate, but the "bays"...
For the cockpit I will probably use black color, with paintbrush, after having sprayed the orange
-
Oooppsss :-red :-red :))
-
Nice car. ;)
-
Thank you Sall!!!
Orange (Games Colors) is sprayed now...
Next step: some panels will be lightened with the orange from Citadel Colors; other ones will be darkened with chocolate brown.
-
:-clap
-
:-ok
-
Thanks!
Yasterday I've begun the masking phase. No work today, I will continue tomorrow... If I don't come back too late from a formation stage at Brussels...
-
The masking phase was a long, time consuming one... Because I wished to do some colors effects, using the Citadel Color orange (lighter than the Game Colors one); darkened the Game Color orange on some other panels and finishing with a marron brown.
You can see the result. I'm a little bit disappointed because the difference between Citadel Colors and Game Colors oranges is visible only when your eyes are at 10 cm of the model (see photo nr16)... But I like very much the "gun panels" made with two drops of marron brown in the orange.
Now I will have to paint the pilots before to continue on the aircar...
-
Never use this paints so have no idea about, kit look uniform painted and nice ;)
-
Great! ;)
-
Thank you mates!
Today I've made some correction in the paint and added black color. I've also painted the pilots... One of them has a moustache, as precised in the instruction sheet because in the film "the left pilot owns a moustache"!!! :))
-
After gloss varnish and oil wash...
-
Almost like real ;)
-
I like your work! :-clap :-clap Very, very nice. ;) Wash is great. ;)
-
Thank you mates!
This morning, some weathering and the pilots...
-
So, today it was:
A light weathering. I preferred to use a mix of "rust" and "Gun Metal" better to just alu: as the cloud city is on a gas planet, oxydation is probably more faster... :)) :-danger :-danger :-danger
Then, Pébéo matt varnish.
Gun painting (gun metal) and smoke of the gunfire (Tamiya pastel)
And final assembly.
So, it's finished...
-
This look excellent :-clap :-clap Please tell me what is the Pébéo matt varnish?
-
Thank you mate!
Pébéo varnishes are acrylic varnish (gloss or matt) that can be found in art shop in France and Belgium. Hope you can find it in Serbia because there are really excellent. You can dilute them at 50% with Tamiya thinner (or methanol) and they spray easily with the airbrush. Of course you can also paintbrush them.
Since I've discovered those varnish, I don't use other nor klir...
-
Will try to find it ;)
-
If you don't find it, drop me a mail...
-
... you read my mind, I just wanted to email you :(
-
Magnificet work mate! :-clap I like it a looot! :-love
-
Thank you!
-
Since the end of that build, I was thinking on a good presentation of the kit. Yesterday with my friend Pascal, we have spoken about that and he helped me, scratchbuilding talentuously this...
More progress soon :))
-
Ha- smart and fast!!
-
Yes!!!
-
:)) Hardly wait for more. :))
-
Here is more ;)
-
Now to attach...
-
:)) So interesting!!
-
Done.
I used a permanent marker to make some black squares (at least, I would have wished squares :-green ) and then placed the supports and fixed them with PVC glue.
I like the result...
-
Beautiful!! Great idea! ;) :-clap :-clap
-
:-ok Great mate ;)
-
Thank you!!! ;)
