Northrop Grumman's Mine Hunting Unmanned Surface Vehicle was successful in a Persian Gulf demonstration, and two more systems are being sent to the area early next year. The vessel uses a standard 11 m, rigid hull inflatable boat to tow an AQS-24A mine-detecting sonar.
