A new horse head in progress.
This one will represent Quaterdance, a 4 years old stallion with which miss Amandine Prevost won the dressing Belgian championship. When finished, the head will be given to Amandine.
Firts stage: miliput
-
Then sanding and minor corrections
-
This time I can give you a photo of the authentic Quaterdance, with Amandine
-
Both are nice :)
-
Yes, indeed!
Today I've realised the mane, using Magic Sculpt. I had to realise 8 "knots"; I enclose some photos of the process and the final result.
I'm quite proud...
-
fantastic !
-
Magic sculpt... one of my new acquisition!!!
-
Thank You!
Magic Sculpt is really excellent; I must say I prefer to use it than miliput...
-
First primer (white) airbrushed; then maskol used
-
Second acrylic base airbrushed...
Next time: oil painting!
-
:-ok
-
Thank you!
First oil painting session: a mix of 70% Burt Sienna + 30 % Burnt Umber is applied
-
Shade is good and even little shine is visible
-
That's the advantage of oil paint versus acrylic paint: oil is more luminous and gives more life...
-
Even classic painter more prefer oils
-
Good progress today: painting of the nose (black + a littl ebit of white); the mane (bmlack + a little bit of blue), and darkening with Vandycke Brown.
Next step: the eyes...
-
Eyes are painted with acrylics: marron, black and a little drop of white to simulate the light; then Tamiya gloss varnish.
Quaterdance is finished and placed on base. I'm just waiting now for the plate with his name; that plate will be made by a friend of mine...
