Piotr Skut (aka "Szut" in the French version of Tin Tin comic "The Red Sea Sharks" ("Coke en stock" in French) was a mercenary flying for the Khemed Air Force on board of a monoplace (!) Mosquito. He was shot down by Tin Tin but they became friends.
RetroSF have released a conversion set to build a Khemedian Mosquito from the Tamiya one, at 1/72 scale.
After having removed all the parts from sprues (some friends here in Belgium call that method "my salad of plastic"), I've modified the cockpit interior to transform the biplace version into a monoplace one, moving the transmetter and the receiver.
I'm actually thinking how to add some stuff behind the pilot'seat...
-
...But I want also represent Skut/Szut near his plane !!!
Re-reading the comic book, you can see that its flying suit is a mix of different actual ones...
I've taken in my spare box two pilots from Hasegawa : a German one and an American one. I just to exchanged both heads, then I made in a tiny and very fine piece of plastic card the headband of Skut, because his is a one-eyed pilot.
(The other pilot will be used later for a "what-if" project...)

Lovely idea- lets enjoy your build :-razz
-
Thank you my friend
-
Yes!

I dislike to mask some canopies, like the one of the Zero or the Hurricane... or that Mossie !
Really time-consuming and bad for my nerves. :))
So, I've made the job on three stages ;)
Ready to paint now !
-
Agree... time+patience+exterme sharp 11 blade
-
Some progress after a period without having worked regularly on the kit...
Examining the comic book, I've seen that the 4 ventral guns were not in use in the Khemed Air Force. Some putty was needed...
-
Good spot!! Khemed Air Force did not need gun fire :))

4 machineguns in the nose only 😁

Well, I've few time to spend for the hobby actually, but my Mossie is still in progress.
Nexte phase : some putty to sand...
-
Not much, look like easy work
-
Well, it' Tamiya nevertheless
-
After sanding, I've airbrushed a white as primer than a yellow identification strip (Gunze H329) ; then masking and finally I've airbrushed Tamiya XF-19 Sky Grey
-
Sky Grey is so nice looking color but not so much used
-
Well, I'm not really regular to post my progresses actually, but still working on the Mossie...
