This is a Hasegawa kit, it's a good kit, looking forward to see the last gunfighter done
-
I will take comparation tomorrow from blueprints copy I have and will see how good it is ;)
-
So, ready for tomorrow ;)
-
A lovely airplane, and a friend of mine was plane captain on one of the last F-8s when VF-84 retired them.
-
So he was last of the last gunfighter :)
-
this is going in excellent direction, looking forward to it !
-
:-ok
-
Yes, my buddy was one of the last to crew the Crusader, but I got his squadron wrong. I typed VF-84 but Joe was really with VF-24, flying from U.S.S. Hancock.
Hancock was scheduled to be retired from service and VF-24 was to retire the F-8 at the same time but they were ordered on one last cruise which ended in 1975. Both airplanes and carrier were then retired. However, there were parts of two squadrons that still flew a little while longer on U.S.S. Oriskany into '76.
-
Thank you for info mate ;) Today, there is no Crusaders as well Oriskany :( Build started finally :))

Good progress.
Your Hasegawa plastic parts are definitely beautiful. I've only built a couple of the old Monogram kits but they were nice for the time they were first issued, not of the quality that your kit, though.
-
I do like Monogram kits, they have very nice details in cockpit
-
Yes, but Monogram was using raised panel lines during that era.......still I enjoy building them!
-
Raised panels are challenge to change :))

Here is work with decals. First at all, I have to trim black decals which are on the top of horizontal tail, they are bit longer then need on my sample kit. I am afraid that I make mistake in one of previous post, I told there is not letter E on kit, yes, there is letter E. Sorry for misinformation
