Title: The Next Rebuild (Poll)
Post by: Second Air Force on March 26, 2012, 12:38:32 AM
Sall and I have been discussing my remaining restoration projects and I thought it might be fun to have you folks choose the next project. Here are the choices, all in 1/48. I have almost all of the parts for them and can scratchbuild anything that is missing. So, if you wish, tell me:
1. Which model to repair next, and,
2. What markings you'd like to see the model in.

Of course, I might ignore everyone's choices and start with the one I was going to, but you never know....... :-jump

But you did not mention which airplane? And what markings? Maybe I can add it to the decal sheet I prepare right now for printing :))

Now i vote for Horten. ;)
Well, some markings which you "can't see every day". ;) It would be good maybe for Mustang. :-think
Hahaha.. Definitely you are right mate! But,go rest. You have hard day,and there will be time for decals. You don't have to work on them this late. ;)

I have special ideas for one of the Mustangs. ;) I won't say more until I start with the painting of that one. :-blah

I was thinking about some different markings for the Ho 229 since they didn't see actual service before war's end. No.1, maybe we could come up with something as far as decals for this one?

The Komet was one of my better builds (or so it seemed then) back when I did it originally. I wish I hadn't left it in the hot confines of my shed so long as the decals are breaking up now. If I'd taken better care of it I wouldn't need to repair it.

We'll continue this discussion for a few days to see if a concensus develops. I like how everyone is thinking, though! :-clap :-clap :-clap

Devastator I say, with some nice pre-war "Yellow Wings" decals. That would be a charm.

I have exactly that plan for the TBD! :) In my case I have a very old Micrscale set for the Devastator and I'll be building 6-T-16. One of the very earliest models I built as a youngster was a 1/72 TBD in that scheme and I would like to relive a bit of my childhood in 1/48.

I'll leave the voting open until Wednesday of this week, 1700 hours my time.

If there's a tie I'll either break the tie myself or just start working on both models at the same time. :-flo

Thanks for viewing and voting, y'all!

Tomorrow at 1700 my time I'll lock the voting and we'll have a result. Just in case, I'm stripping the paint :-danger from a couple of these old models as I type this. :-flo

Yes, Javier, the closest airplane is actually the machine I will be (re)building.

I've locked the voting so we have a result, I'll start on the Horten as my next project, then the TBD.

Thanks everyone for participating--this was rather fun to watch!

I couldn't really ignore the second place vote-getter, so I'm also going to start a resto-thread on the Monogram TBD. One of the Mustangs is part of the April GB. I'm also trying to source markings for the Me-163 so stay tuned!
