It's time for me to unwind and build something that does not require much thinking on my part. This Tamiya Dewoitine will be completely out-of-box and it is a pleasure to assemble so far! I'm not certain of paint scheme yet, but am leaning toward either a Luftwaffe trainer or French machine from 1944/45.

Lovely plane and there is few schemes from late war :)

-
Yes, and that is my problem, though it is a good one.... I can't decide between one of the many Luftwaffe training schemes or one from the Doret unit.

-
				It's a nice kit indeed.
For the deco, both are interresting so I can't help you to decide... ;)
-
Still I can't decide on the scheme......I've also got a couple of early war markings that would be nice, but I'm unsure about getting the colors correct.

This is one of the nicest fitting models I've built in a long time--very little filler needed!

Interior is simple and nice and whole build advanced great!!!

-
				Nice! :-ok

-
This is a great kit, and don't have a doubt the result will be great also !

				Thanks, friends!

Just small progress, I've been neglecting my workbench lately. The rudder stripes are sprayed and the first coat of underside is applied. Obviously, I've decided (finally) on a French scheme. I still have two options for final finish that I may just flip a coin to decide.......

Very correct colors, clean and nice work :) :-ok

				:-ok

I've decided (finally) on an early-war D.520 for this first one. I can see later on picking up at least one or two more of these great kits just for the relaxation of it! So, I did some web-searching and research on the colors and mixed up these. I don't know if they're accurate exactly......

About the colors, no need to search, we are only one to publish original colors, here you are scans of the original French chart:

-
Yes, I used this reference but the green I changed to more khaki.... Hard to get perfect with different monitors, but it will darken some with clear coat.

-
You did the best you could, no worry ;)

-
I own the Agama paints for French aircrafts, but never tested yet...
 ...Will do that perheaps in 2015 (I own the D520, MS406, Bloch 152 & Caudron 714 at 1/72 scale)
-
Decals are on and a few items yet to add, then some weathering. I had hoped to finish this in 2014, but I reckon it will be the first thing done in the new year!

Some outdoor images to finish this one up. I will definitely have to build more of these kits, a fine effort from Tamiya!!!

				Fast and crisp look :-clap

-
I tried the same many years ago when that nice Tamiya kit was not even available.
I could only make the D.520 from a vacform kit and that shows of course!
-
Excellent work Nico, vacforms are not easy to do!!!

-
				Great work both of you!

-
				Excellent machine, Nico!!
