New project is Spitfire FR Mk.IXc and for this purpose I will use Eduard Overstress kit (kit which come in white box, no instruction, no decals...) as well a number of Eduard upgrade set's and custom designed and printed decals (it is I). Material look as on images ;)
-
And idea is to make PRU Spitfire in Pink color which served in France. This is the subject I will going to do :))
-
very, very interesting
-
Good choice, PR airplanes don't get much attention!
-
Thanks :)) Yes, they are real heroes, fly alone deep inside enemy terrototy, in many cases without armed airplane, this is real daring missions.
-
Yes, a lonely duty to fly PR! My father remembered the high-flying recon airplanes on (from both sides) flying above his unit in Africa. In fact it was one of his strongest memories of airplanes!

Preparation of cockpit
-
goood !
-
Thanks :))
-
Work on cockpit progress with furious snail speed :-red :-roll :-smey
-
hahaha furious snail ! looks good mate
-
And somehow cockpit is completed
-
Work on wing is next and whyt I do is dril holes in central section of bottom wing. Reason for that is that I will use drop tank, original machine use it
-
Some sanding and grinding of wing bottom is on demand, to manage wings to fit to fuselage
-
Oh, clearance for resin parts?
The belly tank will be a good addition, not often is the "slipper" tank seen on Spit models.
-
True, this is problem with Spitfire resin cockpit but easy solved
-
And this is situation right now, there is possibility that tomorrow will start painting
-
Work progressed and new Brassin pack is open- landing gear ;)
-
After second coat of panel wash, it look like this :))
-
And in this momen ;)
-
Yes!
-
Stripes done as well all decals (custom designed)
-
Speeding up :-razz :-jump
-
Indeed, soon to be finalized!!
-
Yes, with more resin :)) exhaust on the place and drop tank in work ;)
-
Work on fuel tank were released fast
-
And almost finished, just to add radio wire
-
:-ok :-ok :-ok
-
Thanks :))
-
And photo of completed :)) I take a look and I did not seen radio wire... strange but this is it ;)
-
Excellent!
For what I know, radio wires disappeared on the Spitfires circa 1942
-
Aha... thank you mate for that info :-ok
-
fantastic !
-
:))
-
Daniel is right, antenna wires were eliminated on the Spitfire, and they started sometime in 1940 to install new VHF radios that didn't need the wires. However, the IFF antenna wires from the fuselage to the horizontal stabilizers were still in use until sometime in early 1943.

Thanks mate :))
