Just to prove I do actually make models, here's the Airfix Stirling - an old favourite to many and fondly remembered as a Christmas or birthday gift! This one was converted to a Mk.IV paratroop transport/glider tug of 299 Sqn, RAF Keevil, June 1944, using the Valiant Model Wings Mk.IV conversion (which is really just the nose piece).
I sanded back the rivets and rescribed the major panel lines. The other mods to create a Mk.IV were an under-floor hatch, parachute strop guard and glider tug attachment. The aircraft was unarmed. Otherwise, the kit was made OOB. D-Day stripes were applied imperfectly, just like the real thing.

Here's the underside detail I added - from front to back: the paratroop hatch, strop guard and glider tug attachment device.
