Let me join to your build with this... Testors 1/72 kit...  :-evil well, this is stupid choice as well this look like so old kit and I regret for my old Airfix kit which is miss somewhere. So this kit have some old style kits options, like the kits from '50, national insignia engraved in plastic as well no landing gear bay open. I will take some think what to do...

Welcome to the group! That is definitely a fifties-style kit. :-wise

Now that you've started this kit we can show the progress that has been made in the design and manufacture of model kits over the decades. When I started modeling in the 1960s a kit cost around one U.S. dollar, and many of them were like this model. Sometimes I complain about the cost of modern kits, but comparing this old Testors to a Tamiya or other top-line model makes one appreciate the progress that has been made.

Looking forward to your ideas!
Scott

P.S.
I shot the neutral grey on my A-24 this morning. Perhaps the olive drab will go on tomorrow.

To be honest... I spent some time today watching available documentation and realize that any attempt to upgrade this kit will spent me more time and material then to build two B-24 from Eduard. So, to my deep regret, I will build this kit 'as is'. This will in some level downgrade level of this group build as well shown material in this topic show great skill and effort but in future I will give much better start for my self.

What do you all think about?

I think it will be fine that you build this kit "out-of-the-box" as it can show how far the quality of model manufacturing has advanced over the years. The younger modelers in the world sometimes don't realize that kits were very basic in the "good old days" of modeling.

Personally,i would like to see some hand-made detailes for this kit.It would be great school for me,to see how one master made some tiny parts, but if you haven't time,it doesn't important! ;)

Next will be the detail painting, including the canopy sections.

You'll be done long before I will, No.1! :) I'm out of gloss and flat clear right now so no decaling for me. I have been painting the small parts. This airplane had the U.S. Navy red/yellow/blue propeller tips and tri-colored wheelcovers so I got that tedious part of the painting done last weekend.
