As I received today the Eduard's PE and masks for review, I begin the build of the kit. Actually the parts are in the bath (mix of water and soap). Work will begin very soon...
-
Hahaha- bath ;)

This looks nice, certainly far advanced from the 1/72 Corsair I built in the 1960s!
-
I remember the old Corsair from Revell, Scott. It was my first Revell kit ever, and I was quite happy with that kit...
-
I remember building mine, crudely painting the three-color paint scheme and using cut-out paper numerals from a magazine for decals! I was very proud of it as a boy and may still have some parts in the spares box.
-
After having placed the clear parts in Klir, I've used Eduard's masks. Useful as always. I've had a problem: the canopy is fragile and when placing the masks, it broke in my fingers... Reparation done of course, but a little "line" will be visible... Tant pis! I can leave with that.
For what concerns the masks, it remains the ones for the wheels that I will use later.
Being busy to remove the parts from sprue, I'm a little bit disappointed by the parts: there is flash (not usual with actual Revell standard), and the way the parts are conceived is a little bit strange and not as goos as the parts of the Revell F4U-5 Corsair...
I'm also studying the way to place photoetch...
-
Strange with flash, it is new kit as I know

Yes, it's also what I think: brand new kit... very strange...
-
I was very busy with the photoetch today! I was really afraid to bend the support of the seat; well, that was in fact a piece of cake...
I have also removed the reliefs of the instrument panel and consoles before to place PE - But of course, first painting is needed.

This interior look so good!
-
Yes, it will be very nice!
-
:-ok
-
Thank you Scott!
-
Nice new project and nice work on interior! :-ok
-
Thank you. Next step very soon I hope...
-
White primer airbrushed today. No photos: white paint on white plastic: you would see no difference... ;)
-
Interior green. Bad light, paint is not exactly as you can see on the photo...
-
:-ok
-
Good progress!

Thank you friends!

Lot of work those last days on the Corsair. First, I've used a wash from Citadel Colors on the cockpit parts of the kit.
Then, I've used the Eduard photoetched parts. Lot of time to form the parts, to place the really very tiny ones, but result is outstanding: Eduard made great work!
Then half fuselages were assembled; wings, etc.
I'm really glad of the Eduard set, but I must say I'm a little bit disappointed with the Revell kit. It's not the actual standard of quality from Revell. Lot of putty will be needed to correct some assembly defaults; and canopy will have to be positioned in "open position" due to the poor fitting of the part on closed position...
Not impossible that I let the kit on the stash actually; as I've finished with Eduard set and as I can make an article about...
