New project, again with basic idea to review some products ;)
-
Is this the old Academy kit reboxed, or a new one?
-
No idea :(
-
Interior elements built in and main body assembled :))
-
Looking very good!
-
Thank you :)
-
Yahu instrument panel is stunning, once in place!
-
I am impressed with their line, so easy to use and so effective!!
-
No, I did not forget this project and after more then a year, I am back to finish it. There is several project in various stage of work and hope they all will be completed. Now, I start preparation for final fit, this include to smooth all join lines and fit all parts and start painting. Decals will be for British sample, GA-M from no 112 Squadron. Interesting is that three P-40M have letters GA-M:
FR811,GAM, 43-5612, Missing Apr 8, 1944
FR861,GAM, 43-5755, Force landed north of Trogir, Yugoslavia Mar 22, 1944 following flak hit
My sample will be:
FR864,GAM, 43-5758, Crashed at Ripa Dec 20, 1943 after pilot bailed out following flak hit
Big problem for now is lack of any image of this plane.

"Several projects in various stages..."
Are we twin brothers? ;)
-
It look like :))
-
:-ok
-
this will be nice !
-
Thanks :) I find one reference photo :))
-
P-40 week!!
-
Nice week must say :-razz :-razz
-
Now doubt... is this P-40 painted with British paints or that was US contemporary? DuPont did have similar range of paints. or that was field paint used, like in this chart?
-
To paint today... will try to use paints close to DuPont shades (I guess I will)
-
:-ok
-
Here is difference between US and British paint and I find almost identical paint direct from jar :-razz
-
Good to avoid mixing of paints...
-
nice progress, like it !
-
Thanks :))
-
Now, lets match brown
-
Comparing show that Tamiya XF-64 is best and closet choice. Gunze Sangyo dark earth does not match at all any paint :-smey On photo it does not good, hope you will see on kit when completed
-
Must apologize- brown paint I mention in previous post, is not reliable. Much more better is the one I use here, see image :))
-
Nice!
-
Thanks :)
-
Now I think I have problem, bottom blue look darker then US or British Azure Blue. I know color images should not be that much trusted... :-wall
-
Blue painted and I choose fade out version of this paint I have.
-
That looks pretty close, No.1. I struggled a bit with Azure when I built my last Kittyhawk as the Testors I had seemed too dark also.
-
Thanks mate, I try to do my best :)
-
Excellent choice IMHO
-
Thanks :))
-
Just yellow leading edge :-red
-
Excellent !
-
Dirt...
-
Looks good
-
Desert dirt!
-
And completed :))
-
Love the desert camo on Kittyhawks!!
-
:-ok
-
Very nice!
-
Thanks :)
-
Superb once again !
-
Thanks :))
