Title: North American T-2 Buckeye
Post by: No.1 on March 29, 2012, 02:08:30 PM
I have start today basic preparation of parts for build of Buckeye. This one is resin kit in 1/144 scale made by Foxone from Japan and quality is top! From my last experience top kits coming in 1/144 scale and made of resin

Spot filling and air intake attached. I am impressed with details of this kit and how the build goes smooth. My opinion is that best and most accurate kits in this moment coming in this scale and in resin ;)

That is a fantastic bit of resin casting! How the molder was able to get the small details so crisply is amazing. The decal sheet is also great and we'll enjoy your build a lot.

Amazing. So detailed yet so small!

Where are the resin casters finding this clear material? When I was making aftermarket parts we had no source for such clear resin.

This is clear urethane resin, it is widely available today, but not much before

Canopy masked before tinny parts of landing gear was fixed in place. Reason for this is simply- work on cockpit require much of manipulation and holding in various area of kit and if I could have landing gear on it, it could be broken. So better in this way :))

Especially masking those tip tanks for the black is hard, even in large scales. It's really come alive now!
