OK, I can now begin with the RetroWings kit I've received recently...
-
...All parts are removed from sprue and primer airbrushed.
-
As well how they imagine and create subjects, better to call em Retro Magic ;)
-
Sure :-green
-
RLM02 airbrushed. A second sitting will be needed because I've forgotten to paint some parts... :-wall
-
Nice start mate !
-
Thank you mate ;-)
-
It's time to resume the work on this one...
Painting of the cockpit interior & the exhausts
-
Will be interesting to see it assembled, with wings
-
Yes, sure!
Gloss varnish and then Tamiya black panel liner...
-
Simple and effective!
-
Looks good !
-
Thank you!!!
-
Matt varnish applied, then pastels...
-
Sad that cockpit is too narrow to be observed all of this details...
-
I will take better photos later, my friend
-
Cockpit interior done. I've added Eduard'seatbelts.
-
Now look effective!
-
Looks great !
-
Thank you friends
-
Some work today...
First, I have decided not to use the little parts to mask the hole on the tail. Those parts are too short; I prefer a smooth finition there...
Then, problem as you can see... I've decided to remove 5mm from the inner part of the wing...
-
Now to hope that propeller will not touch each other
-
I checked for the propellers my friend; there is no problem :))
-
:-ok
-
excellent job mate !
-
I had a long discussion with my friend Domi (from RetroWings) about that problam with the central element of the wing... He tested the "not reduced" element and that was good for him!
...Solution is simple in fact : When I was trying to place the half fuselage before to place the rear part, Domi placed both in the same time!
He sent me a new inner part of the wing and, as you can see, that's correct. Just necessary to know how to resolve the problem.
I've used miliput and white Mr Surfacer 1000 on the cockpit cache (starboard fuselage)
-
Well, for this stage a 3rd hand would have been useful...
-
This afternoon I've glued the wings. Putty will be needed but I'm happy with that progress
-
Now all in place ;)
-
;)
-
Not mentioned on the instruction sheet : you have to remove the external fixation on the rear to place the part used as "cache" (see the two first photos)
And little progress before to use miliput/putty again ;)
-
Well, you did improvement ;)
-
😁😉
-
looks excellent !
-
Thank you my friend
-
Sanding and rescribing phases done! Painting will begin soon.
Undersurfaces: you see that it is very important to cut correctly the wings of the 109G... I've cut too short and miliput was needed.
-
nice progress !
-
Hope all of this surgery will not be visible once when painted :)
-
Well, base paint will be useful in such a case... ;)
-
First layer of white primer applied. Just a minor correction to do on the kit ;)
-
:-ok
-
Thanks :))
Correction done; little parts added and flash on the propellers propellers (that I didn't have seen before the primer) removed
-
Looking good!!!
-
Thank you Scott!
-
Still progressing on the 109Z... Masking, removing masks... :))
-
Look like Swiss pattern ;)
-
:)) :-ok
-
RLM75 (AK RC279)
-
:-ok
-
Thank you!
Well, removing some masks I realized that the most forward red band on the right fuselage was larger than needed... and larger than the one of the left fuselage! So, masks once again!!!
...And white primer airbrushed before to redo the painting process on that location.
I've also had some fun painting the wheels, tyres and propeller bosses with black nuances
-
Mask again... tape manufacturer are happy :-smey :-ok
-
nice progress mate !
-
;)
-
Still in progress... All the corrections in paint done.
-
Look like state of chaos but know it will turn into real beauty :-ok
-
Looks great mate !
-
Removing all the masks revealed new correction to do on the paint...
-
This one will have special place in your collection- with most correction ever done on it :-smey :-wall
-
Excellent !
-
After having airbrushed gloss varnish, I've applied decals :-love
-
:-clap :-clap
-
Gloss varnish again; then panel liner applied; matt varnish; light chipping and exhaust + guns fumes; final assembly: FINISHED! :-green :-love :-love :-love
-
Finish is great and Swiss AF must be proud on their heavy duty fighter who intercept US bombers whos enter their airspace :-tri
-
Another award winner!!!
-
Thank you friends !
-
Superb !
-
Thank you ! ;-)
