I went ahead and started the Hasegawa kit that I intended for parts only. I've got enough remains to construct something, so here goes.

Cockpit finished, then the major parts assembled. The wingtips came from an ICM Mk.IX that is in the queue. This old Hasegawa kit fits fairly decently, though it demanded some work getting the wing dihedral at the right angles. It's certainly not as nice as the Tamiya Seafire from earlier in this GB, but it isn't the worst kit I've ever built.

Here's the underside of my Vb. I experimented with the paint on this by first spraying a varying coat of neutral grey as a base and then applying the RAF grey in order to get some fading/wear/streaking effect.

It doesn't show on the photograph, but the effect looks pretty good in person. With further weathering I'll be satisfied I think.

Ocean grey today, with some of the toothpaste method underneath for chipping paint.
