Today I've prepared the cockpit detail set and with my Proxxon removed the reliefs on the half fuselage interiors.

I'm not familiar with such detail sets; I wanted to use this one simply to see how it works before to use the one included with the Spitfire IX given to me by Dominique Genard...

That detail set looks really great!

I managed some more progress on the Seafire, primarily on the fuselage modifications. Here you can see the reinforcing doublers that were added to strengthen the airplane for arrested landings.

Here is the arrestor hook and doublers on each side of the fuselage for the catapult spools.

And the wings and fuselage after a first primer coat and cockpit components painted.

Cockpit, basically from the kit with the exception of use of Airscale instrument decals. I really like these and highly recommend them!

Since this photo was taken I've added the throttle/mixture/propeller linkage and the alighting gear hydraulic lines. Then the fuselage halves were glued together. Next will be seat harnesses and then the cockpit can be inserted.

That's the great thing about building top-quality model kits--everything fits perfectly and not much needs to be added. This kit is much like the Airfix Bf-109E I built last year, just a lot of fun and not much effort needed. The mods I've done were my own choice, but I'll get another of these kits to build as a box-stock model one of these days.
