Luftwaffe Mustang
« on: November 25, 2013, 02:32:09 AM »
Here's an old 1/48 Monogram P-51B that's been unbuilt in my collection for twenty odd years. I pulled it out last week to make some room and decided to put it together for "old-time sake". This is another of those old Monogram kits I built as a child and I still like building it, even if it has raised panel lines. For fun I built the first known P-51B made airworthy and evaluated by the Luftwaffe. Nothing but out-of-the-box here and some spares box decals. Very relaxing for me! :-cool

Very nice ! Those old monogram models have a highly detailed interiors and wheel wells, they only need to be engraved, but if they are " left alone " they are still nice models, once again, a very nice job on this one !

Thanks, y'all!

I really just built this without any corrections, just like I did in the 1970s. This kit had been "assigned" to be converted to the XP-51 and I had an appropriate propeller and other stuff in the box. Since Accurate Miniatures had done the Allison-Mustang series this just sat in its box doing nothing and I felt like a quick "nostalgia-build" the other day.
