Lockheed Hudson
« on: July 30, 2012, 11:24:47 PM »
I have made nice progress with the Lockheed Hudson interior. This is the MPM kit, and I have done some extra work on the interior. I added details such as ammo drums, oxygenbottles, switchboxes. The Boulton Paul turret will be a little project by itself. I first made the mechanism with the ammoboxes, after that I will some stuff to the interior of the turret itself.

I will add pictures asap - I cant access my photobucket page at this moment.

Photobucket has been quite slow here also. I don't know if it the same issue as you're having, but I've been able to work with it (with patience).

Right now I am making a small Aldis lamp and a hand held camera. I ordered Miniworld guns for the beam guns and masking tapes from Eduard. So I guess I will have to switch my attention to the wing sections!

I hope you like the interior color! I explicitly did not want to paint it RAF interior green but went for a striking green, which I had seen in color pictures of Lockheed machines.

In case you wondered, I am still working on this MPM kit. It's been quite a pain to get the fuselage fitted together, especially around the mid upper turret and the tailfeathers. I had to add some extra strip to make the fuselage wide enough to make a good fit possible.

I am now at a point where I have to join the nose (three clear parts) to the fuselage. That needs to be a very strong join, but I can not use my standard modeling glues. Any suggestions?

I found that the tyres of the kit are not very good. I am looking for diamond thread, weighed tyres as replacements. Does anyone have ideas, are there after market samples?

I managed to finish my Lockheed project in just over five months, which is not bad for me, and I am pleased with the result. For some reason I can't manage to take a picture with the right colour balance, it is a bit "overflashed" and the brown looks vaguely pinkish in the picture. I hope you like this plane anyway!
