Title: How to be stupid modeler
Post by: No.1 on April 20, 2010, 08:51:01 AM
Well... in my life I have lost two cockpit canopy. The first one was from my first kit ever, I buy it on excursion to Sarajevo long time ago, I think in 1974. That was the kit of SAAB J-35 Draken, scale 1/100 East Germany manufacturer VEB. I was so warmed to see what it have inside and in the bus where we was, canopy stay forever.

Few days ago I lost canopy of the Revell Me 262 night fighter... I was get it from frame to fit the rear spin cover and after that it have to be inside box again. But it is not :( Detailed search in home did not help.

 :-crazy :-wall

I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I have a theory that kit parts are momentarily disintegrated as soon as they touch the floor (or anything else). (I've lost husband's canopy of Japanese Zero  :()

Maybe you are right- they find some hole and being in the moment disappear into another dimension and time.

Yes! But I have no other canopy to do that. Long time ago I have order from Squadron their Clear Thermaform clear sheets and copy of teh canopy was my regular way. This is very good option...

Well :)) In the meantime I get new sample of kit so I could be able later to copy canopy over this. So I put it on work table and continue work on decals. Nothing special about this build but this is one of many kits I have in various stage of completing and need to finish this and wipe off some mess in my modeling space

Thats right- step by step and all of my model pile will be completed. Here is work on landing gear and as RLM 02 I use Revell paint which look very good for this purpose.
