I just start work on A Model kit in 1/144 scale for review of the latest APC decals... fitting of parts remind me on Serbian modelers Chuck Norris fact:

When the things get wrong turn... :(
-
Aouch... :(
-
It would be better if I have stay in bad whole day, anyway I am a bit out of good fit last days :(
-
Bad news, but nothing critical. Bottle of Purisol and everything is right.
Kit is russian standard. They use a lot of oil for mould maintenance. You must clean up russian kits in a good dishwashing detergent before painting, or better before first cut to sprues. And coat of surfacer is a big help too.

I did clean it up under water and final cleaning was with alcohol. I did not use surfaces as well it is on very end... :( All right, wil rest a bit and then will back to build.

Alcohol don't remove oil well. Medical benzine is better, but quality wash detergent is enough. And surfacer for russian kits is necessary. Their plastic is "little" different. Probably cheap or recycled, paints don't adhere well on it.
-
All right. Will remove paint with spray for oven cleaning, then wash it properly and all again... thank you for patience and advice ;)
-
bad luck.....
-
Will correct it, I have clean it up and in following days will start all again.
-
Back to track :-tri

Great! :)
-
And it is far better now, little red overspray but no paint peel of :-tri

This is battling with you all the way! :-wch
We've all had something like this problem with fuselage bands, I reckon......either the paint lifts up or it bleeds under. I'll run up to the desk and take a couple of photos and be back soon.
-
Here's the way I've finally had fairly good success with masking bands: First, cut very thin strips of Tamiya tape for the edge of the stripe and apply to the airplane. Then mask around the thin stripes with more tape and masking paper.

Since I started using this method I've had almost 100% success (not quite, but it's better than it used to be..... :-danger) because the thin strips conform to the curves better.
-
Excellent work, I also start with thin one
-
It's the way I'm also using. No problem so doing...
-
If y'all hadn't gotten me to use Tamiya tape I would still have problems with this. I used to use automotive pinstriping tape but the result is so much better now!
-
Final detailing and fitting :))
-
:-ok
-
Nice! :-ok
-
Thanks :))
-
You're winning!!
-
Oooo yeah ;)
-
Finally completed!!!
-
Very nice result! :-)
-
Thank you :)
-
Great! You defeated this little "problem child"!!
-
It was not easy but with strong force, it can be done.
-
Well done mate! :-clap :-clap
-
Thank you :)
