New project I'm starting at the request of Domi (to show his detail sets), with the goal to have finished it for the Mons expo (Belgium) in august 2013.
Kit is from Hasegawa. Funny like all the egg-planes; easy build of course... Few parts, and no detailing so Domi's sets are warmly welcome!!! See the seat, the instrument panel and the exhaust...
I will build the kit in Belgian deco.
The base is already ready (Verlinden tarmac airbase at 1/72)

This will be cute ;)
-
I agree!! :-clap
Go ahead mate! :-clap
-
Go, go, go, Daniel!
-
:-ok

First work: to remove the plastic, to insert the cockpit interior set from Retrowings
-
Parts are glued on the underside. Second photo is to show what will be the final result.
-
Cute, little bird! :-clap :-clap
-
These egg-planes are more and more fun to me!!!

Thank you!
I will try to realise a splendid deco...

Hi dragen, very nice choice of that "egg" plane. There is also a site I have recently found where a guy builds...whatever from real egg shels. From aircrafts to...uboats.Just give me some time to find the link and post it.

OK, time to come back to this old topic!
I'm still awaiting for special decals, but I've decided to continue the building of the kit that are started, to clean my stash...
Today I've painted and placed the interior set. It improves grandly the kit...
-
Highly polished :-ok
-
:))
-
Use of aequous pencils; "hub" positioned; canopy glued and also the resin exhaust.

:-clap :-clap :-clap

Thank you Scott!!! :))
Well, I have an idea for that egg, for a special deco... But for that the wings of the kit are a little bit too tiny. So, I have removed those wings and replaced them with those of a 1/144th F-16 from Dragon. Of course, putty/miliput will be needed.
And on the same time, I made a "MLU" F-16 and, finally, replaced the pitot of the kit (not very nice) with a needle...
-
Some complementary work was needed for this egg to become fully MLU... :))
-
very nice
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Not happy with my work on the nose... I removed the little plastic part and made a new separation nose/front of the cockpit (second try was good) then cyano in place of putty...
-
Fixed ;)
-
Miliput today...
I've also tried a technique already used to creat some little parts: I have masked part 39 of the 1/72 F-16 MLU from Revell to create a mould. Then I have put miliput into the mould. Hope all will be fine...
-
Very smooth to me, look like ready for paint :))

Well, after a good sanding session ;)
-
Now it's a MLU...
I'm happy with the result of the moulding! I just had to use some Vallejo putty for finition but that's all... :)
-
It is pleasure to see perfect match of fuselage and cockpit!

Thank you.
That asked for some work but result is good indeed
-
The engraving of the nose was corrected with a razor blade and cyano as putty.
Then I've sanded where needed and engraved some panels. Due to shaking hand, correction needed on the left wing - correction with cyano
-
nice
-
Thank you! ;)
-
:-ok
-
I wil try (I repeat: "try") to realize this scheme:

-
Well, best of luck mate
-
Thank you... Nice challenge indeed...
-
OK, before to begin the painting phase I've checked the work already done. Was not really happy with the miliput under the wings (remember; the wings are not the original ones but those of an 1/144th scale Dragon kit); so: miliput again. Now I've obtained a more regular result. Some sanding will be needed and after that: painting!
-
Must say that filler behind the air intake is perfectly done :-ok
-
Thank you!
I used Vallejo putty. Very good for regular and fine lines.
-
Canopy masked
-
OK, now it's really ready for painting!
-
Yes :-tri :-tri
-
Little progress...
-
...And primer airbrushed.
-
:-ok
-
Thank you my friend!
-
Primer day on both sides of the Atlantic!
-
:-ok
-
Even if the kit is not a priority to build, I've profited that I used miliput for other builds to correct a little default on the starboard wing
