No matter I have few other builds to complete, I need to start this one and to complete it step by step in following few weeks. First image show all items I need to assemble and next is my comparing of Tamiya paints with the official RAF color chart ;) Color test will be made later and I will show you results and interior grey green must me mixed.
-
First step is to make mix of Grey Green color as well I have no this paint in my acrylic range of colors (I have Humbrol but it is poor adhere to surface and longer drying then Japanese paints). As you see on first test image, mixed paint look almost identical to the official chip. Next image show parts of the Spitfire cockpit set before painting... the rest no need special explanation, painted parts as well image of the used paints for interior color mix with mix in front of it.

Excellent start my friend!
-
Thank you ;)
-
Your color looks dead-perfect. Lots of interior parts to see there!
-
Thank you mate ;) best at all is that I have mixed quantity for whole life (full bottle is far enough for me) ;)
-
Perfect color, and soooo many parts!! :-eek :-clap
-
This will be great pleasure to work with :))
-
No doubt! :))
-
I get time to continue work but not much progress.
-
Nice anyway!
-
Really nice!
-
Thank you friends, I am still work on the cockpit... and a lot need to be made there ;)
-
More work today, I hope tomorrow will start work on plastic parts of the kit. The same kit look so easy but not will eb fast build as well I need to build in many additional parts.
-
I have finally start work with plastic parts ;)
-
This is one beautiful cockpit, No.1!
-
Thank you :))
-
Ecellent work my friend! :-clap
-
Thank you :)) And now the problem- Eduard resin cockpit is a bit oversize and there is need to scratch surface inside bottom wing and a bit of the resin cockpit from bottom. There is tinny walls so much care need to be taken during scratch work :-danger
-
Hmmm......I had something of the same issue with the Tempest V. The plastic parts were thicker on that one though so my grinding was less stressful!
I was thinking after seeing your cockpit completed that it would be a nice "stand-alone" display piece even if there weren't an airplane around it!
-
My opinion is that even basic plastic parts which come with kit are excellent so this kit as weekend edition will be nice item ;)
-
:-clap :-clap :-clap
Good news, and typical of the newer Eduard kits.

Next stage- flaps!

A lot of job for this little part! :-clap
