The Mikoyan MiG-29 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-29; NATO reporting name: "Fulcrum") is a fourth-generation jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union for an air superiority role. Developed in the 1970s by the Mikoyan design bureau, it entered service with the Soviet Air Force in 1983, and remains in use by the Russian Air Force as well as in many other nations. The NATO name "Fulcrum" was sometimes unofficially used by Soviet pilots in service.
The MiG-29, along with the Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter new American fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle, and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon.
The MiG-29 has two widely spaced Klimov RD-33 turbofan engines, each rated at 50.0 kN (11,240 lbf) dry and 81.3 kN (18,277 lbf) in afterburner. The space between the engines generates lift, thereby reducing effective wing loading, to improve maneuverability. The engines are fed through wedge-type intakes fitted under the leading-edge extensions (LERXs), which have variable ramps to allow high-Mach speeds. As an adaptation to rough-field operations, the main air inlet can be closed completely and alter using the auxiliary air inlet on the upper fuselage for takeoff, landing and low-altitude flying, preventing ingestion of ground debris. Thereby the engines receive air through louvers on the LERXs which open automatically when intakes are closed. However the latest variant of the family, the MiG-35, eliminated these dorsal louvers, and adopted the mesh screens design in the main intakes, similar to those fitted to the Su-27.

Cockpit
The cockpit features a conventional centre stick and left hand throttle controls. The pilot sits in a Zvezda K-36DM zero-zero ejection seat which has had impressive performance in emergency escapes.
The cockpit has conventional dials, with a head-up display (HUD) and a Shchel-3UM helmet mounted display, but no HOTAS ("hands-on-throttle-and-stick") capability. Emphasis seems to have been placed on making the cockpit similar to the earlier MiG-23 and other Soviet aircraft for ease of conversion, rather than on ergonomics. Nonetheless, the MiG-29 does have substantially better visibility than most previous Russian jet fighters, thanks to a high-mounted bubble canopy. Upgraded models introduce "glass cockpits" with modern liquid-crystal (LCD) multi-function displays (MFDs) and true HOTAS.

Armament
Armament for the MiG-29 includes a single GSh-30-1 30 mm cannon in the port wing root. This originally had a 150-round magazine, which was reduced to 100 rounds in later variants. Original production MiG-29B aircraft cannot fire the cannon when carrying a centerline fuel tank as it blocks the shell ejection port. This issue was corrected in the MiG-29S and later versions. Three pylons are provided under each wing (four in some variants), for a total of six (or eight). The inboard pylons can carry either a 1,150-litre (300 US gal) fuel tank, one Vympel R-27 (AA-10 "Alamo") medium-range air-to-air missile, or unguided bombs or rockets. Some Soviet aircraft could carry a single nuclear bomb on the port inboard station. The outer pylons usually carry R-73 (AA-11 "Archer") dogfight missiles, although some users still retain the older R-60 (AA-8 "Aphid"). A single 1,500-litre (400 US gal) tank can be fitted to the centerline, between the engines, for ferry flights, but this position is not used for combat stores. The original MiG-29B can carry general-purpose bombs and unguided rocket pods, but not precision-guided munitions. Upgraded models have provision for laser-guided and electro-optical bombs, as well as air-to-surface missiles.

Yugoslavia
Yugoslavia was the first European country outside the Soviet Union to operate the MiG-29. Yugoslavia received 14 MiG-29Bs and two MiG-29UBs from the USSR in 1987. MiG-29s were put into service with the 127th Fighter Aviation Squadron, based at Batajnica Air Base, north of Belgrade, Serbia.
Yugoslav MiG-29s saw little combat during the breakup of Yugoslavia, and were used primarily for ground attacks. Several Antonov An-2 aircraft used by Croatia were destroyed on the ground at Čepin airfield near Osijek, Croatia in 1991 by a MiG-29, however there were no MiG-29 losses. At least two MiG-29 carried out an air strike on Banski dvori, the official residence of the Croatian Government, on 7 October 1991.
The MiG-29s continued their service in the subsequent Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Because of the United Nations arms embargo against the country, the condition of the MiG-29s worsened. Before Operation Allied Force began in 1999, Yugoslav MiG-29s were over 10 years old, short of spare parts and proper maintenance. By March 1999, the Yugoslav Air Force had 11 MiG-29s considered operational.
A total of six MiG-29s were shot down during the Kosovo War, of which three were shot down by USAF F-15s, one by a USAF F-16, and one by a Dutch F-16. One aircraft, according to pilot, was hit by friendly fire from the ground. Another four were destroyed on the ground. Some Russian sources claim that a MiG-29 shot down an F-16 on 26 March 1999, but this kill is disputed, as the F-16C in question was said to have crashed in the US that same day.
Most historians attribute the downing of a F-117 as being shot down by SAM commander Zoltan Dani. Some sources claimed it was shot down by a MiG-29 piloted by Lt. Col. Gvozden Đukić, which was the nom de guerre of Zoltan Dani.
The Air Force of Serbia and Montenegro continued flying its remaining five MiG-29s at a very low rate after the war. In spring 2004, news appeared that MiG-29 operations had ceased, because the aircraft could not be maintained. In 2007, all five MiG-29 were sent to Russia to be refurbished, and upgraded. In 2008, the MiG-29s began returning to service with the Serbian Air Force. In the 2009 one Serbian MiG-29 crashed, the pilot and one soldier on the ground died.

Very concise, good article :)
-
Nice intro kid :-clap :-clap :-clap :-tri :-flo :-ok Let's go!!!
-
My favourite plane! :-love The best fighter plane in the WHOLE WORLD!! :-love :-love :-tri
Group Build MiG-29-finally!! :-tri :-tri
I will work on Italeri MiG-29A 1/72 kit. I don't know yet which camouflage i will paint, but it certainly will be SFRJ/SRJ or SRB markings! Will see.. :-flo
One more thing... I will not start work until 11th-12th December :( , becouse until then i have to find/buy some resin/PE parts for it... (I think i know where i can find something what i need, but i have to wait for 11th-12th december) :-flo
PS. I will try to work on F-15E until then, but then, F-15E become secondary kit. ;)
Happy work guys!!! :-clap :-clap :-clap
-
I'll pass this one, too long queue of previous builds...
Sall, you could find resin details (cockpit, proper nose and afterburners) at approaching New Years' modelling competition in Belgrade Aircraft museum. As i remember, it was rather cheap last year when I bought'em...
-
I will search there Profa. :-ok
-
Great introduction, and a great airplane!
-
Excellent introduction, mate!
For me, it's the Eduard 1/48th scale MiG-29UB... Will begin it as soon as the Helcat is finished
-
Excellent mate... ;)
Which markings will you use? :-think
-
Excellent mate... ;)
Which markings will you use? :-think
I'm not decided yet: Russia or Azerbaijan... That will only depend of which paints that are still lacking actually, I will find first ;)
-
Ooops! I've forgotten the brassin set for wheels...
-
:-ok
-
I'm start work on my MiG-29. :-jump :-love
Resin parts will wait my next build of MiG-29 in some close time,so... :-flo This will be OOB with some scratchbuild and resin seat K-36DM,which will arrive to me in few days. ;)
Here you are instrument panel. ;) :-flo
1st image show instrument panel after light gray.
2nd image show some paint job on same.
3rd image is finished instrument panel. ;)
I'm not at home for weekend so i will continue work next week. :-flo :-tri
Ps. Hope you will soon start work on yours MiG-29. :-flo
-
:-ok
-
Keep the updates coming!
-
Here is my start today. My initial intention was to complete redesign basic kit as well it is much incorrect. I am afraid that I was not capable to manage good scale print of the drawings (I did my best in PC but output device have some issues... ) therefore I will build this direct from box and in this way will be used for review.
Set of work images are here...
-
Nice and fast job Srecko. :-clap :-clap As you said. ;)
-
Here you are my progress. :-wave
I must to add some detailes on instrument panel, and to paint some areas again.
Now instrument panel is finished. I will not touch her any more. :))
Also i work on cockpit. I have resin seat K-36, but MiG-29 9-12 use K-36DM seat. I have to add 2 detailes on this seat, and then it will look like K-36DM. :-flo
Next,i had to cut some piece of plastic in cockpit tub(it looked like box), and put inside piece of stiren(next i have to fill and sand it) so i can put resin seat. ;)
-
I have added 2 detailes on K-36,now K-36DM. :)) :-flo
Cockpit tub floor is sanded... ;) Tomorrow i will continue work on cockpit, and hope i will assemble both halves of fuselage. ;)
-
Good work mate, very good :-clap
-
Great job, both of you!
-
Nice work Srecko and Sall, great progress! :-ok
Ernie
-
Thank you :-ok
-
:-ok :-ok
-
Last night progress is this ;) Assembly coming later.
-
Thank you guys very much!!! :-clap I will continue my work later today. ;)
Good job Srecko. ;) A lot of filling&sanding job. :-roll
-
More work today ;)
-
:-ok
-
Fights with join lines :-kr
-
:-kr :-bat I will have same problems on the join line of air intake and engine on other side...
-
I find time for modeling! :-jump
Here you are the right console with buttons, and left console with handle of throttle. I must to wait for everything to be dry, to start with the painting. I hope that it will be tomorrow. Now i will paint the cockpit tub, i put a new picture later.
I must say one more thing! Albion Alloys Tubes are great, great thing!!! :-love
-
Well, I think I will have same problem...
-
Next time I will order axe and hammer for scale modeling :))
-
Here i am... :-jump
I have painted cockpit tub and seat. :-ok
Continue tomorrow. :-flo
-
Well done mate! :)
-
Thank you mate!! :-flo
-
Good work mate, this will be ready for painting soon?
-
Thanks Srecko. Probably in 7.. I hope. ;)
-
:-ok
-
7 days. ;)

Great cockpit, Sall!
All those joint lines and filler.......I know the feeling!
-
My progress this morning- hope that images talk for it self.
-
Very nice mate! :-clap :-clap
-
Very good and quick work No.1, who will be done first, you or Sall :-think :)) I still haven't found my kit yet :-dal
Ernie
-
More progress today ;)

Ernie
No worry about your kit, maybe time to complete any build you have on desk. Maybe submarine you start some time ago?
-
Yes, that is on this list this week!
Ernie
-
:-ok
My progress later today. ;)
-
:-ok
-
Here i am... :-jump
Work on cockpit... All assembled, but not finished! ;) I still have to work on it,to add some detailes, and to put windshield, and fill&sand it... :-roll
Continue tomorrow! :-wave
-
Nice work mate!
-
And fast as I can see :-clap
-
And fast as I can see :-clap
And the race is on!!!!
Ernie
-
Thank you friends. :-flo :-flo
This is first kit on which i work with "normal speed" after long time. ;) Soooo,i'm very happy! :-jump :-tri
-
I think that cockpit is finally finished! :-tri:-jump
I have added gun sight, also few wires and little stiren in area under the windshield. Everything filled&sanded, painted, and ready to put windshield when i come to that stage. ;)
Next stage-> riveting! :-flo
-
:-ok
-
Hello,
It's an amazing work. I like it.
Jicehem :-wave
-
Thank you friends!! :-flo :-flo
Glad to see you here again Jicehem!!! ;)
-
Glad to see you here again Jicehem!!! ;)
Thank you very much Sall. :-salut :-salut
-
I have visitors last days so my work were slow down. Kit I work in moment get last night coat of primer grey color and this is show on last image. Rest of the images show preparations and fittings on kit. In this stage kit is very complicated to handle as well it have many small etched parts and in other hand kit require much of movement (just to state a bulk of decals to put on it)
-
Good. :-ok
-
Two camouflage colors painted. I use Humbrol as base grey and Revel for green grey tone. Both are acrylic and work perfect.
-
Very Nice! Camo looks great :-ok
Ernie
-
:-ok
-
Thank you friends :) It is a bit wash out and maybe some panels should be more exposed ;)
-
Very nice!
-
:-ok
-
Unbelievable what mistakes I left on surface and paint it over!!!
-
To be inattentive is often my speciality, mate...
-
Very nice progress
-
You will fix that mate, not worry! ;) :-flo
I will work on mine later today. ;)
-
This is fixed and painted again ;)
-
I'm happy to see I am not the only one who does that :)) :-wave Glad you got it all fixed up No.1, thats all that matters!
Ernie
-
That was only a "primer coat"! (At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it...... ;))
-
:-ok
-
Dear friends, this is the period when I feel it could be better to spent in hibernation then to do anything. This kit is generator of problems, you see process of protection to paint dielectric panels. No matter that I have protect paint with top coat and use most soft protection paint, after removing mask paint on some areas were chopped... now I have to repair this. But on in moment, now I lay in my chair and write this with laptop on my knee and going to stay like that for some time.
:-wave
-
Let that kit on the shelves for a few days; things will go better after...
Not rational, but better to change your mind a little bit in such cases...
-
I agree and will do just like that :))
-
Let that kit on the shelves for a few days; things will go better after...
Not rational, but better to change your mind a little bit in such cases...
That is one of modeling's Great Truths! All will be better.........at a later time.
-
That can be some problem with paint... :-think
-
I have recover all, images coming tomorrow ;)
-
Good. ;)
-
Ready for decals :))
-
Wow! Fast and nice!!!
-
Yes,nice! :-ok
-
Thank you friends :)
-
Lovely :)
-
Here i'm again... :-jump After few days of break,i'm continue to work on my favourite plane: MiG-29. :-flo
This is first time i have use riveter. :-tri :-jump
1st pics show right inside.
2nd pics show right outside.
3rd pics show left outside.
4th pics show is left inside.
Left inside is first side i riveted. It wasn't the best,so i sand that side, and riveted it again. ;)
5th pics show left inside fixed and finished. ;)
-
Little master :))
-
New exhaust :-tri
-
Definitely it looks much better! :-clap
-
Review is here:
http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/2011/12/29/mig-29-exhaust-nozzle/
-
Extra!
-
Loosing my eye's with stencils :(
-
Take all your time for that phase; it's bothering if you try to go quickly...
-
I can be fast even if I want. I manage to make stencils under nose bottom. Only the all of the rest remain to be made...
-
Fun, like sanding :) :-roll
Ernie
-
Bottom is completed :-wall
-
Good!! :-clap
-
Big fun!!!
-
Decals work completed, only pylons remained. This all sound like two day before completed!!!
-
Are there as many stencils on this MiG-29 as there are on the '21? If so, the pylons are loaded with them!
Good work on all projects, we await further advances!
-
Good things is that there is not that much stencils as on MiG-21, I have complete all decals work on kit. Best thing is that decals for pylons are made in single block, not as set of separate labels as on '21
-
Ten minutes ago it get coat of flat varnish. Now I have removed cockpit canopy and can focus on many small details. Few decals did not flat down and this will be correct later ;)
-
Good! :-clap This will be finished soon... :-jump
-
Yes, soon, hope tomorrow ;)
-
This is progress steps, I guess today afternoon I will have review on web site. Hope... :-dal
-
Completed somehow but I miss better images for you here. Give me some time, in this moment I just wish to rest a little. Bad days for me...
-
Cockpit is very good!! :-clap
Hardly wait pics, but do not hurry. Take your time. ;) :-flo
-
Thank you mate :-ok
-
Very well done!!!
-
Beautiful!
-
Hey Srecko... Will you put pics of finished model? :-roll :-think
-
I'm continue to work on riverts, again on vertical part of tail. :-flo
Every rivet i have to sting with needle (one is sewing needle and second is part of circle drawing tool with needle ;) )
Hope tomorrow more work! :-flo
-
Riveting with needle? Old good way :)
-
Excellent work...
-
And... sand surface with 800 grit sanding paper to flat down edge around punch points ;)
-
Riveting with needle? Old good way :)
No,no! I use Trumpeter riveter, but every riveter makes too shallow rivets, so i need to use needle to make them more deep. ;)
And... sand surface with 800 grit sanding paper to flat down edge around punch points ;)
All right! ;) I will do that. Thanks for advice! :-flo
-
I'm again in the game. :-wave
I sanded vertical part of tail with 800 grit sanding paper,as Srecko says. ;)
I start to do rivets on wings. Also i had to re-scribe some panel lines... :-roll I finished right wing(upper side),and also sand it. And start work on left wing(upper side),but i'm to tired,so i left it for tomorrow.
Lower side i will riveted after i glue wing with fuselage... Maybe tomorrow-it depends of my obligations. ;) :-flo
-
Good to see you back at this!
-
Hope you will complete it soon :-ok
-
:-ok
-
More progress... :-jump
Left wing is done(upper side),also horisontal part of tail(upper side). I had to fill and sand some panel lines, and to scribe new one on other place. ;) Also all rivets on upper side is done. ;)
Going forward on fuselage! :-flo
-
Very good! Fill the rivet on the round access door :))
-
;) It will be done later today.
-
Hard and long work but splendid result!
-
Looks excellent!, your hard work is making good results :-ok
Ernie
-
Thanks friends! :-flo
-
Hi there after a long period of absence.
Nice efforts in one of my favourite cold war planes.I have two of them and hope to start them once upon a time, wearing Begemonds BuAf or new Serbian roundels.Especially the new Serbian colour scheme,as Slovakian digital camo also are both very eye catching.
I had the chance to watch a pair of Bulgarian Mig-29,one single A and a two-seater trainner from GRAF IGNATIEVO Air Base live in the air, and on the ground when participated in the common exercise BRAVE HEART SOUTH 2008 co-operating with our F-16C/D from 330/341/347 Squadrons of the Hellenic Air Force in 111
(http://www.airforce.gr/images/aircraft/341_Bulgarian_Exercise.jpg)
A pretty big, lovely ugly, old but still reliable (though the initial A type needs much upgrates to keep up with the NATO standarts) will be in my next projects for sure.
-
Thank you Zetman! :-flo
This is my favourite plane ever,so i can't wait to see them!! Also hope that those kits will be in fully "Zetman standards"-with much scratchbuild! ;)
When we can expect them? :-think
-
Bulgarian have interesting camouflage so this will be great build for sure :))
-
My computer was busy,my sister use it,so i can't work on rivets, but i decided to make some progress tonight, and i work on rockets. ;)
Sanding them, glue some parts, and put them on toothpick, also prepared to work on them tomorrow. :-jump
I don't have power to fight with tiny rivets now,so in next few days i will work on other things on this kit... ;)
One more thing-i'm not sure that i will use this 4xR-60 missiles from box, maybe i will use 4xR-73(i have 2,i need 2 more :-think ) missiles, but i didn't decided yet. Anyway i will try to paint them, also wheels, and those tiny things, but plane i will painted at Srecko's place with airbrush!! :-tri
-
:-clap :-clap :-clap :-ok
-
Oranges and apples? What scale? By the way, nice work on parts, clean and crisp work :-ok
-
Thanks friends! :-flo
:)) :)) Srecko, 1:1 - to have health and power to fight with tiny parts! :)) :))
-
Power source :-ok
-
I did a little search. And make decision. I will do some of planes from JRV & PVO, 112, 113 or 114. Probably 114,and with this load!
-
:-ok
-
I primed missiles today with Hu 127 enamel. I decided to put on my kit 2xR-27R,2xR-73E,and 2xR-60MK. All 9-12B version of MiG-29(my kit is 9-12B) can't launch this 3 type of missiles in the same time(flight),or 2xR-27R and 4xR-73E or 2xR-27R and 4xR-60MK,but every MiG-29 can fly with them... I have found some photos of Yugoslavian JRV i PVO MiG-29 in fly with this combination(all 3 types od missiles),so i will put it on my kit! (pic is in my previous post ;) ) Hope i will next week go to home of my parents, and get 2xR-73E,because they are in theirs house.
I also paint wheels... :-flo
Tomorrow i will apply Hu 34(White),and it is acril paint... I will see on what more i will work tomorrow! :)) Also, everything is prepared for tomorrow work! ;) :-flo
Ps. Apples in my case have one more function... :)) :)) :-flo
-
:-ok
-
Thank you Daniel! :-flo
As i promised i continue work on missiles. First and second image is after first "hand" of Hu 34. Other three images are finished missiles after 4 "hands" of Hu 34.
I also glue wings, and use putty to fill gap between wings and fuselage. ;) Fix panel lines and rivets. Now everything is ok! :-jump
Maybe tomorrow i will continue work on rivets, but certainly i will work on something... :-flo
-
Very good work on surface :)
-
Excellent, mate!
-
This is looking great, Sall!
-
Thank you friends a lot!! :-flo :-flo
Today i work on air intake. Glue 2 part for every intake, sand them and then filling and sanding job twice! :-razz
First seven images is work on air intake. Last 4 images are dry fit of air intake with fuselage.. There will be problems to fill all those gaps.. :-wall :-wall
-
I guess you need a coat of filler over intake to completely smooth the surface?
-
It is smooth, believe me, but i still can see there line. Definitely i need to change filler. This Humbrol putty is not good. :-wall Any recomendation? :-think
One more thing, does anyone have advice how to solve problem with fit of intake and fuselage? Pretty big gaps. :-think
-
I use two of them, first liquid and another is standard...
-
What standard??
-
Best possible ;)
-
:-ok
-
For putty: better Italeri or Tamiya, or Squadron.
You can also try to use your Humbrol putty diluted with a little bit of aceton...
You can also make your own (excellent) filler: put some sprue parts into an old liquid cement. That give a kind of paste that you can apply with a toothpick and then sand easily.
for big gaps I would use miliput.
-
I will try to find Italeri putty. I work with it before this Humbrol, and it was excellent! I was very satisfied with it.
If i don't find,i will see what to do. Thanks for help. I will use something from this. ;) :-flo :-flo
You can also try to use your Humbrol putty diluted with a little bit of aceton...
I tried. Believe me, it become worse then without acetone. :-wall Italeri putty works excellent with acetone. :-ok
-
Little progress... I glue air intake with fuselage, and there are big holes, and deep lines.. :-bat
I need to buy some good putty this days,so i can start work on solving this problems. :-blah Also i have to made some tool for sanding putty inside of wheel bay. It is very difficult to access there. I will use also this:
(http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2271.0;attach=46627;image) (http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/off-road/letletlet-meetings/?action=dlattach;attach=46626;image)
When i finished that,i will put some wires inside of wheel bays. True is that very little of that can be seen, but it will be for my soul. :-flo
Here you are images of glued air intake and fuselage, also images of holes and lines... :-/
-
Go ahead mate, this will be nice when you complete it :-ok
-
That seam is really, really in a difficult spot, Sall!
Another option on filler would be to find an automotive body shop or auto parts store and get some "spot filler". It is basically a paste form of red oxide primer and works very well.
Can't wait to see your next update! :-ok
-
Nice work anyway...
-
Thanks friends!! :-flo :-ok
I will try to solve this problem this days... ;)
-
I work little on MiG-29.
Until i'm waiting putty,i decided to fill little this holes and lines with glue in gel. ;) I use:
(http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1868.0;attach=40978;image) (http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/off-road/my-new-acquisition%28s%29/?action=dlattach;attach=40977;image)
And here you are photos. I fill little this holes, because i think that it is better to put something inside before putty.
You will not see anything special, because when this glue dry,he is transparent/clear. ;)
-
It is good also to make provisional filler with mix of this cement with powder like graphite powder, chalk powder or what you have available.
-
Thanks for advice... I will try to think something, and use some of advice that you mentioned me on Facebook.. :-flo
-
You are welcome :)) Use this board as main area for conversation please ;)
-
:-ok
-
Finally some update! :-jump :))
Todat fill and sand job! :-wall 3M putty is great! :-flo :-clap
Continue later. ;)
-
Now only to practice and you will very soon have perfect results :-clap
-
:-ok
-
One more update... ;)
And one more layer of putty. :-bat
Also filling job in wheel bays. While i'm waiting to be all dry, i need to think some tool for sanding.
See you in next post. :-flo
-
While i'm waiting ,i decided to work on other thing. I try to upgrade gun. It is not like on real plane, but believe me look much better then it was in the box. ;)
I paint gun panel in Hu114,just that you can see better what i do. ;) Everything is crazy tiny, and i take photo is macro mod(you see things which you can't with eye!!),so when you look at it live ,it is very good. ;)
-
You have no template for guide?

-
Hey, that filler looks familiar. Glad it is working for you, Sall! :-ok
-
Haha. :))
Thank you once again. ;) It works perfect! ;)
-
As i said in "My new acquisition(s)" topic, new exhaust for my MiG-29. This will be first time that i will use resin parts, except seat, and i'm very happy because of that. :-tri It will help my MiG-29 looks much more realistic, since exhaust from the box are not the best. ;)
Second thing, for which i am not too happy,is that i see bubbles(about 20 on visible parts-some are smaller some are little bigger),and there is one little damage :-bat :-wall,but i will fix it :-flo.
Anyway i'm happy, because my MiG-29 will looks nicer! :-tri
Also,i will put them with Srecko, because as i said, this is first time i use resin parts, and i'm not 100% sure where i need to cut excess of resin. I hope that Srecko will help me. :-flo :-flo
Here you are photos. ;)
-
Best at all is that you will have more experience with that type of material ;)
-
Each new material will improve your knowledge and yur skills... ;)
-
I agree! :-ok
-
Today, not much time. :( I just have about half an hour to sand this-one more layer of filler. ;)
And now i'm very satisfied-everything is smooth! :-flo :-tri
Today or in Tuesday i will try to make some tool to sand filler in wheel bays(last two photos are wheel bays ;) ). More about that when i make something. :-ok
-
Just note on air intake edges, you stil have two holes
-
Yes,and i don't know how to fix it... Any idea?
If you think on this:
-
Try dabbing a dot of CA glue on the "vee" gap and then holding the airplane nose-down while the glue hardens. This will make the glue flow into the void. After it's hard you can sand/file/trim the glue down and then fill any little imperfections that remain.
-
Thanks for advice! :-flo Tomorow i will try to do that. ;)
-
You get good advice and spot what to correct, it is on you now :))
-
Finally i sanded wheel bays on MiG-29. ;) I used my new sanding tool :)) and sanding sticks.

Hi friends!! :-wave
Little time these days. Exams on my college!! :-/
Tonight i decided to fix two little problems that cut my eye!
-First two images - i fill this two panels with super glue, when dry, i will sand it and scribe new panels. As you can see, this two panels need to have a square shape, and mine panels don't have a square shape! :)) :-wall I think that for this things, super glue is much better choice then the classic filler, because these panels are very tine, and with super glue i will avoid the cracking during scribing a new lines. ;)
-Second two images - i cut a little piece of this button-lever. They were too long, and cut my eye definitely!! So now is ok! :) :-flo
This is everything for tonight, it's little i know, but better something then nothing! :)) One step closer to finish! :-flo
-
Scribing template have to be used for shapes like that ;)
-
Will try to do something! ;)
-
Good work anyway... ;)
-
Thank you mate!! :-flo
Now i need to think how to solve problem about scribing these two panels and template! :-think
-
Good to see you moving forward here, mate!
Eduard makes a great set of templates for such panel lines. I only just acquired these templates lately and they work GREAT!
-
Thanks!! :-flo
Definitely i need to order one!! :-ok
