Title: Curtiss 75A-7 Mohawk (MustHave! 1/48)
Post by: draken35 on April 06, 2011, 06:54:23 PM
I received today my exemplar of the Mohawk (Thank you, Philippe!!!)

Here is a presentation of that kit:

The boxart

What you'll find in the box: plastic parts, resin and photoetched parts
(http://users.skynet.be/bk320910/moh002.JPG)

The plastic parts are those of the Hobbycraft Curtiss H75. Nothing to say, this was a nice kit.

What is completely new are the resin and photoetched elements:

Cockpit interior, flaps, tyres...

...A splendid engine...

...And the PE: seat, seatbelts, elements for flaps & engine, etc.

The instructions are made clearly, in four pages

Then, the painting guide for 4 decorations. My only regret is that there is no reference to some paints like Humbrol, Tamiya, Gunze...

And the decal sheet, very nice:

I hope to begin that build soon, but for personal reasons, not before may...

MustHave! is the new label created by Philippe Jourdan, formerly the big boss of Hi Tech. Hi Tech was sensational because offering rare birds (like Roland D.II, Voisin, Breguet XIV, Sopwith Snipe & Salamander...) but was "short run"-made.

MustHave! is definitively more "professional" made and if that first kit is an amelioration of the existing H75, you can wait for totally new and stunning kits!!! I know some of the future releases but it's top secret and, as we say here in Belgium: "I will shut up in all languages"...
