Hi from Greece. :-wave
First of all I would like to congratulate all of you for this magnificent site. :-clap
An incomplete project I left some time ago due to lack of info, was a conversion of 1/48 Koster Aero Enterprises Fouga Magister into a Tzoukit.
A lot of work and detailing thanks to Isaac's walkaround photos and many thanks to all people that helped me by providing useful information has been done, and this site with this very nice dedication to Hatzerim museum which made my mind to grab it again. Will it be finnished? :-roll
We'll see. :-think
At the moment cockpit and turbomeca marbore engine is finished as well as some control panels are opened and avionic details are installed.
So be patient, stay tuned and please feel free to comment or ask.
Thank you.
Zetman

So,this is the kit's box from Koster Aero Enterprises in 1/48 (Kit No.27),ordered from USA.

The kit contains 10 vac-formed parts,57 resin,2 clear for the canopy,5 in metal, and a excellent Micro scale's,designed by Isra Decals, decal sheet depicting 5 israel options from 1960 to 1980,one from the well known acrobatic team,2 French and 2 Finnish.
And the construction begins:

Beautiful scratchbuilding, my friend!!!
My ears almost hurt just looking at the engine--probably the loudest and most annoying sound I ever experienced on the flight line......but a good little engine nonetheless.

:-eek :-eek :-eek
Your work is so cool and crazy!! :-clap :-clap :-clap :-clap
Hardly wait to see more!! :-flo
Ps. Your work is what i strive for,but in 1/72 scale! ;)
-
Interesting! At Aviodrome at Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands we have still a Fouga Magister flying around! You can make 1 hour flights for EURO 2250.-

Stunning work on the engine...

After see you work. I´ll quit post my models here!!!! Holly Jesus!!!!

I would like to thank you all for youe interest and your comments.Really glad you like it.
So,carrying on with my second part of the tzukit construction, which is the cockpit:
All of it was made up by scratched pieces as evergreen styrene plastic sheets, rods, aluminum foil, photo etched from other sets for bezels and roundels, blocks of resin and a lot of epoxy glue and.....patience!

Thank you Sall, truth is that photos of the engine are not as good as I expected. :-think
I apologise.Maybe sfind some time and upload some better. ;)
:-salut

Thank you No1,metal is aluminum foill from a coffee tin. ;) Valuable and cheap material, and also very easy to form.
-
I also used metal foils used as printing plate
-
I'm really impressed by your work. It's fantastic! Nice build, of a so sympathix aircraft.
For the anecdot, Belgian Fougas were nicknamed "the Belgian submarines" because the use of a periscope/episcope by the monitor (placed on rear seat) to see forward the aircraft...

And here is a small update with the cockpit, engine compartment and the scratch engine hoist:

Excellent work, my friend! I was just thinking about this project yesterday and this update is much appreciated.
The engine hoist is a great addition and shows just what a tiny powerplant that noisy beast is! I have the same size and type hoist here for use on General Aviation machines. This was during the annual inspection on our spamcan a couple of years ago with Ellen and our GS Mickey relaxing after we'd rehung the engine. An acquaintance has borrowed my hoist to fiddle with a Magister engine last year, so it knows the territory!

I can agree that Fouga Magister engine is very, very loud!
Because it runs at very high rpm it produces a high frequency sound that is very unpleasant. And when on our Aviodrome platform both engines are running it is only some 5-10 m away from the public.
We always warn to cover ears or use ear protection!!
-
Splendid!!!

I used to be DOM/inspector/mechanic of a flight school and we had an FBO adjacent. The FBO had a refuelling contract with the U.S. military establishment and we had T-37s coming through much of the time. On the other side of my hangar was a charter operation with numerous MU-2s, so I got high-frequency screaming from all sides! I swear most of my hearing loss came from those years.........even with ear protection!
-
Thank you SAF,photo really appreciated too.Depicts some more details that needs to be added.
Yeah Nico,I have watched a static engine testing of one.Canimagine the noise of both of them....
Draken thank you too mate.
-
That looks promising!
-
Are you finished this Zetman? :-think
-
Amazing build ! :-eek :-ok
Jicehem :-wave :-wave

-
No problem mate!! :-flo
Have you some new images? :))
-
Unfortunatelly not yet :(
The problem is that I want to leave opened as much panels as I can from the material I found here, and that needs time,I have to consider.
-
All right mate! ;)
