Bordurian Messerschmitt Bf 109
« on: August 26, 2017, 08:55:40 PM »
Once again, great work made by Dominique Jadoul that created a conversion set for a Bordurian Bf 109.
...Where is Borduria? Well, read Tin Tin  :-green
Neighbourg country and enemy of Syldavia...

The conversion set was designed to fit with any Bf 109F from AZ Models.
If you read Tin Tin, you will see some difference between the actual Bf 109F and the Bordurian one: a fixed tail wheel, lack of underwings radiators; front fuselage similar to the one of a Bf 109B; three-bladed prop with a gun outlet in his centre and exhausts stack with only 5 pipes.

The Bf 109F kit from AZ is very nice like all their Bf 109 serie. Here are all the parts of the kit and of course those of the conversion set

Work begins with the cut-off of radiators and the assembly of wings. Some panel lines must be filled (yellow arrows) and another one must be created (red arrow)

Then the elements of the conversion set that replace the radiators are glued and the central area of the AZ Model wings is cut off and discarded.
I have also incorporated the instrument panel in the RetroSF fuselage...

Hmmm.....Bordurians must have figured out that the chin radiator was more to their liking, especially with the V-10 engine variation!

Hi,  :-salut

Bordurian Bf 109 in "Le sceptre d'Ottokar"... Great story. In the first version of this story the plane resembled a He 118... and national markings were different.

True my friend, in the first edition the aircraft was different from the one of the reedition of 1947.
To be noted too that the first dictator of Borduria was called "Müsstler", a contraction of Mussolini and Hitler. It's later that "Plekszy Gladz" and his infamous moustache became tle country leader...

Anyway, little progress with the base paint. I also envisage to use two 1/72 Preiser Luftwaffe figures; a pilot and a mechanic. Just an idea...

Not too much time for modeling actually...

...But little progress anyway!
