A quick update on this thread--I've taken a start on the second Hobbycraft Emil in my stash and it will (obviously) be a nightfighter with Owl Decals markings:

Yep, and I wanted to try this sheet from Owl as I also have a Bf 110 and Ju 88 to build using their products!

Hello, :-salut

Pretty work.

Pay attention. I think that this particular Bf 109 E-7 had an additional streamlined homing device on the underside of the aft fuselage, more exactly between the numeral 9 and the Balkenkreuz (seen from the left side). Letter J was red, outline in white (as seen on close-uo photos).

Yes, I've built my own scanner that will be added at the end.

I've been a little disappointed that the decal sheet missed the red J, but it will not be hard to correct with a little work.

Final touches on this one, and a short review of the Owl decals. These markings went on well with a little silvering under the clear portion of the national markings. This surprised me since the gloss finish was so smooth, but a little setting solution fixed the issue.

Hello,

Splendid. The black color rendering is well done.

Cheers,

I'm too lazy to start a new thread on this '109 since I didn't take any in progress photos, so I'll fit it into our old GB.

Recently I re-read an excellent book on JG 26 and I decided to build a Gustav flown by Klaus Meitusch. The airplane here was flown occasionally by Meitusch when he was Gruppenkommandeur of III./JG 26. The kit is the old Hasegawa G-6 built out of the box but with a canopy from my spares box. Decals were sourced mostly from my extra sheets.
