And finally some visible progress on my Alba....... The national markings are painted on, they need some fine adjustments but first they will be protected by a layer of gloss cote.

Next step was the painting of the canvas surfaces ( only the sides with the roundels ), I put on black base to give a bit of depth and made the areas shaded a bit to break up the monotony of relatively big surfaces

And how it looks completed, before fine adjustments

Since I don't have decals for this specific plane, and I believe they doesn't even exist especially in 1/48 scale I had no other choice but to make them myself.

After printing the decals I noticed the printer didn't paint the black areas evenly so I had to paint it over. The difference is clearly visible......

The decal paper is clear so I had to paint the white areas on the fuselage on places where the decals will come

As I found out later the white area are too small for the scull so a bit of extra work will be needed here also

The work continued. After a long research about the paint of K.u.K. Oefag Albatros in this particular scheme - natural wood and canvas with green ( or sometimes green and brown ) patches I found out that the K.u.K Oeffag's which was later used by the Serbian air force was with green patches applied on two ways, with sponge or sprayed. I decided to make my Albatros in the second scheme, sprayed patches, here it is after spraying patches and two layers of gloss cote. Thank's No.1 in help with the research  :-salut

Thank's chaps !

I made a wash with burnt umber to give a little depth and worn out look to the canvas, to see the difference between with the done and undone I made the picture of the both, side by side, the upper wing half is the the treated one, not clearly visible on the picture, much better in life
